Dear Sir,
I would like to reply to your review starting from the beginning. If items need to be returned to the manufacturer under warranty it is subject to their terms and policy. Makita will only collect from dealers, so it is the customer's responsibility to return it to the place of purchase for it to be collected. Other manufacturers such as Bosch will collect from customers and deal with the warranty directly with end users. As you bought the Makita, this is why you had to return it to us at your cost as detailed in our terms and conditions which you accepted when placing your order.
My colleague Tom did call Makita to ask if there was anything we could do for you as it was 3 weeks outside of the 12 month warranty. They advised Tom that as it was outside of the warranty you would need to take it to a repair agent. Tom did recommend you speak to Makita as they maybe able to help you out directly as a one off and as a good-will gesture but it would be impossible for Makita to allow us that kind of favour as it would set a precedent on future warranties between us and them.
When you called us back telling us Makita had told you we should fix it, you could not provide a name of the person or get anyone from Makita to call us to confirm this.
I am happy to hear Makita are sorting this out directly with you but this is because you took our help and advice to speak to them directly.

Dear Sir,
I would like to post our response to your review and the correspondence with yourself over your order. We accepted by telephone and email that you were mis-advised by one of our sales team. Yes, 2 of the 3 items you ordered were in stock with us, however our new member of staff you spoke to was unaware of the cut off times in order to get the goods to yourself for the next day. He did not “decide to lie” or deliberately deceive you as this would not benefit anyone. It would not benefit yourself, himself or Tool-Net so there would be no reason or anything to gain from doing this.
It is our company policy that directors do not speak to customers directly. That is why they employ managers who can speak to customers. You were passed through to myself to speak to and afterwards received an email confirming our conversation as requested with the link to the £5 voucher on. However I clearly stated in my email that you can use two of these vouchers on your next order to total a discount of £10 (as I would put notes on your order to authorise). This is not the usual procedure but was a good will gesture from myself as way of apology. <br/>This heater was one of a batch ordered from the manufacturer in early December 2010. (Rhino - 0115 938 900 will verify). The batch had been promised to us numerous times and the due date was pushed further and further back. The heaters were promised again for delivery on the 10th but failed to show. The have finally been received today the 14th. This would have made you order 8 days late, for which we apologise.

<br/>The STATUS of ALL orders can be seen at ALL times by SIGNING IN and clicking "My Orders" details are not kept in the "Toolbox"(Basket) which is emptied when the order is placed as is the norm.

<br/>I understood your frustration and having exhausted all attempts to reconcile your fury I asked what "could I do to help solve the situation" which was met with another tirade of abuse!

<br/>We Confirmed by email; your customer account, confirmed your order and sent an email on the 5th working day apologising for lateness. We spoke to you on the 3rd of February and you were happy to leave the heater on back order. On the 11th we had another conversation and your order was indeed cancelled and the payment refunded immediately. We then emailed to confirm the cancellation, refund and included a £5 apology voucher.

You were extremely lucky. I ordered Clarke jump leads on 29/11/2010 & haven`t even beeb sent an acknowledgement of my order let alone the jump leads. They`ve charged my credit card though.
