“Huge mistake”

We have been in our house for 16 months and we still have ongoing issues not addressed. They'll do one thing every 6 months and that seems to be great performance for them. I can't believe we are still waiting for floors and walls to be fixed after 16 months. We still have not been able to decorate and put blinds up as I can't paint with loose walls. “Persimmon Communal Area Maintenance”

We purchased our Persimmon home in June 2015 and were advised the development would have a shared communal grass / shrubs / tree area in the centre which all residents would need to may annual maintenance for once the development and communal area was finished. Beware of Barratts Kingsbrook Ayleasbury, They will lie at every instance of the sale. I registered a property at Kingsbrook recently and had a very bitter experience. They actually miss sold me. All the information given at the time of registration is misleading and wrong. Please ask them to confirm every bit in email which they will not, but force them to do so. I would not recommend a barratt home.bought one December 2016 in warton. Waited since sept 2017 for them to replace my grass at the front they did 4 weeks ago and its dying. Back garden gets waterlogged near the house and the side has no grass at all now. I was promised stones at the side and drainage and new lawn at back. Went today with my son, a first time buyer to the Wesley chase sire in Preston. Email stated grand opening/viewing of new development. Hot there only to be told systems were down so couldn't give us any info. Stated no brochures etc as all online now. The sales lady told us the wrong price (£193000) and my son had to point out the correct price (£186.000)from the Barrats website. “Avoid At All Cost”

What a disappointment!!!! They are the worst home builders that I have ever come across. How the could be awarded 5* for 8 years in a row is beyond me. They reel you in with all their promises of good customer service post purchase, take your money, you move in and that's when you see the real them. I’m writing Channel 5, where we are currently producing an exciting new documentary regarding the construction of new build properties. The series examines the range of defects that can emerge after the builders have left, such as leaks, subsidence, damp and badly fitted fixtures, for example.
The construction of new-build homes is at an all-time high, and there are also rising complaints about their quality. The series also looks at what protection home buyers have when purchasing a newly built home, and how some are forced to engage the services of professional surveyors – known as ‘snaggers’ – to prove their homes are substandard.

“Guard your Borders from Barratts!”

If you buy from Barratts, make sure you take photos of the back and front gardens as soon as you purchase the property. Make sure you measure the garden and take photos showing exactly where the fence posts are, how wide the borders are, etc. You may need this as evidence of where the fences originally were. So after being extremely reasonable with Barratt's Eastern Counties for 6 years on a drainage problem it appears we have. I choice but to solve the problem ourselves. “Barratt Customer Care Don't Care”

Barratt Customer Care do not fix problems with your new home. All they try and get away with is putting some sealant around things and tell you it is fixed. I have been waiting 4 months for a new door and door frame to be to be replced as the door has a twist in it and the door frame is bowed. The completion from forced offer and rushing you to sign off the transaction will live long in my family's minds. Not only will the sales home team push you to take properties you don't like but they will try deny you a right to use your own insurers and mortgage deals. “Repeatedly Let Down by Barratts”

As soon as you give them the 5 star rating there customer service ends, you will be fobbed off with any issues. Barratt staff walking over your private property, shouting and swearing early hours of the morning, delivery wagons constantly blocking the street, machinery using your drive.
