    Good Points: The Woodside course is excellent. Greens were fantastic even after lots of rain. Rooms were clean, good sized and beds ok.


    Bad Points: Where to start?? 24 of us had 3 days there. We had booked 12 buggies for each day. When we arrived their was a buggy ban so we tried to get pull trolleys. Guess how many they have, bearing in mind they boast 3 courses....thirteen, yep thirteen trolleys. Kind of spoiled the week before it had started and many couldn't carry a big bag around so didn't play. They offered us vouchers but to spend them we had to go there again!!!
    Every bunker was G.U.R. as they seem to be filled with gravel and the rain had hardened them into concrete.
    Food is poor quality and serious money.


    General comments: You know it's going to be expensive, but nothing prepares you for that initial shock when a very plain burger in the bar is a tenner, and a bottle of beer is close to four pounds.
    There's no lockers to rent for golf clubs. We took ours to our rooms but the lifts weren't working!!
    Take some drink with you, take a golf trolley and plenty of cash.
    I would play the Woodside course again though, highlight of the week. The Lakes course is no more than average. You'll drive past hundreds of better courses just getting there. It's long, some holes too long really for us mere mortals, I play off 12 and couldn't reach many of the greens in regulation (didn't take my best game with me though).

    If you are a golf society staying at the hotel Belton Woods, please check the menu that is being provided, we had a buffet which was probably the worst hotel meal that our society has ever had.
