Good club for money and will improve your game by a good amount. I really like the Hippo Hex, it easy to hit and feels good. The look of it might put you off a bit but if you get over that you will learn to love this fairway wood.

Very surprised with the Hippo Hex driver, brought after many years with old driver. As i am not a power driver, very surprised at the distance hitting with no effort.

When i went to the golf shop and told them that i was an intermediate (about 18) and i needed a not too expensive driver they handed me the hippo hex.
They told me that i should play 3 rounds of golf and if i didnt like it they would refund my money. I went to the driving range next evening and hit the most consistent and straightest bucket of balls ever. I went to my annual golfing weekend the next week and paid for the driver after the winnings from the first round.
last week the head split on the 6th hole...somehow I still managed a 312 yard drive on the last to win the longest drive....great intermediate club but as the rest say it splits after time.....

when i bought this club last year 2009 i was very impressed i could hit the ball straighter and longer and even learned how to put spin on the ball to go around courners. But just one year later as i have now found out they have a tendance to split the heads on them, just as mine did and this can't be repeared so all in all great driver but not for a golfer who likes to play a lot unless you dont mind buying a new one every year.

Loved it at first - the first driver I could hit consistently. After 18 months, however, the head split. Must be a design fault with the head?
So, the good. It does help you hit straighter, although you may feel some "drag" on the head speed. This has the desired (in my case) effect of slowing my swing down. However I cannot recommend it now. 18 months is not a good lifetime for a casual golfer llike me. It equates to half a dozen driving range outings and about 30 rounds of golf.

A great beginner to weekend player club with lots of forgiveness and great distance. The way its shaped really did cure my bad slice, also its very cheap giving great value for money.

To say I am disappointed with this club is an understatement. I enjoyed using the Hex driver, but for this to split the way it did, and only after 9 months of use, is very disappointing.

Bought this some time ago when going through a patch of not feeling very confident with driving, liked it to begin with but very difficult to do much more than swing slowly. If you do this you will get an accurate but not particularly long drive.
Once I started to increase the speed of my swing again it felt slow like it dragged through the air which left the face open and lead to a tendancy to fade, my normal fast drive was/is a draw. Back with my old (much faster swinging) driver now.

The Hippo hex is a great driver for the money. Its a bit old now so i got one really cheap; ive tried loads of different ones before purchasing, all the top brands and weighing up all my options and looking at price this one came out best, i have no regrets with buying a hippo hex rather than a better recommended Ping or Taylor Made because I am hitting this much better than i did with any of those. My driving is a lot more accurate and therefore my second shots are a lot easier so i am very happy with this club.

I read all the reviews for the club and decided to get one as i had a bad slice problem. I have been amazed since getting the driver as i now also hit straight and long without any effort at all. I would recommend to anyone.

The Hippo Hex can only be described as excellent for me and others in our club who have bought it due to my success with it

As many golfers i just could not find the right driver. And even with my previous off-set Cleveland i was able to slice my drives. Last june 2007 i first played the Hippo Hex on a work trip to Florida. It took a bit getting used to the shape, but once i got the hang off it i never once sliced. Even though i did lose 5 to 10 meters on my drive... There all on the fairway! This helped me to drop 7.5 of my hpc to now playing 16.

had a try of the Hippo Hex for a fortnight &had to buy one.with my old taylor made 540 ,i tended to cut the drive quite a lot, but the hippo is very forgiving for me & my cut is now a slight draw,i went for the HL version as i hit quite low,the low torque shaft with the club face slightly toed in seems to work a treat, also gained 10 yards at least, cant wait for season 2008
