I have had a static caravan on this site for the last 7 years, and i can honestly say in all that time this site has never ever inproved,no matter what people say its like a gypsy site full of essex loudmouths and wannabe boy gangsters and im charged £2500 for the privledge, the staff are rude esp the office girls, they talk to you with attitude.
The bar staff are just as bad,the shop on site now doubles up as a reception, cutting down on what they sell, and i can say make sure you take all you need as you wont find anything in the shop.
the maintainance dept never turn up when you need anything doing, and when they do they dont have a clue what there doing.
i had a toilet problem they fitted 7 different parts, and a plumber who eventually came said every part they fitted was wrong, that will give you an idea what you dealing with.
They run bingo up until 10pm at night,so they dont have to hire good entertainment, as most people go home as there kids so tired of waiting on decent entertainment.the cafe sells undercooked food, and buy it from asda and cook it for you hence there cod in beer batter asda special its gross avoid at all costs. and shop sells out of date food if you lucky this is illegal, its a total disgrace this site is filthy dogs running wild, girls of 10 in so much make up they could hire a pharmacy between them.what are these parents doing letting young girls of 10 parading like mini tarts, the bar area full of wannabe essex gangsters, old men threatning others that crowd there corner of bar.regular punchups inside and out.
The barrier as you enter is always open,so many things gone missing off site, theres a sign as you nearly get to site saying nearly there........do yourself a favour and turn around there and head straight back out as you will regreat it 100% if you dont i guareentee you.

Steeple Bay Holiday Park was horrid!
It was dirty and very badly maintained.
All hard standing pitches were broken up, all electric hook up points were dilapidated and the one I used was unsafe (trip switches on all 4 points failed to work)
The pool was out of action apparently because the life guard had quit (Funny when they shut it during the week, just to re-open it for the weekend)
The club house is a dump with scattered rubbish, food and grime everywhere. (Which was left for days before fi ...- Read Guest's review (392 words)

good points; lovely place. beautiful views, relaxing,
bad points: looks like a dump, rubbish every where, holes in roads, neglected, uncared for by staff.
Please feel for us owners we spend a lot of money time and effort looking after our plots,we mow our grass, we buy the plants,so please bare that in mind when you visit our park and respect the owners plots and caravans because it cost us a lot of money each year.
Why we stay you ask, because most of us have been coming here since we were children ...- Read fedup owner1's review (366 words)

Excellent entertainment, friendly staff, the pool exceeded all expectations. having read the reviews i was pleasantly surprised.
Had a great time. everyone we met staff and other holiday makers were very friendly.ive been to a few caravan parks and feel that steeple bay has had a lot of reviews which are not justified. We will definitely return.- Read sashern's review (93 words)

Steeple Bay is the most relaxing place to be. The staff are helpful and polite. The surroundings are second to none. Yes, the shop is definitely not as good as it should be but on the whole there are a lot worse places to be. It is much much improved and they seem to be doing their best. If you have any sort of request or require help the staff will do their best to help you.- Read Guest's review (127 words)

This park is in a wonderful location, but I think it needs someone with vision. The shop could be a little gold mine, but it seems to me apathy is the order of the day rather than raise to the challenge. I do hope the park owners listen to the people who own caravans here, otherwise it would seem more people will leave and few new owners buying? That would be a shame, so action, action action, NOW in my opinion.- Read polefisherman's review (155 words and 1 comment)

We have just returned from a 5 day break at this very clean and looked after park. I read the reviews before I went and was filled with dread about going. I even tried to arrange for an alternative park!
On our arrival we were greeted by a friendly chap who gave us all the info on the park. Our caravan was a new one and was clean and tidy (the only thing missing was a toaster). The beach is not really one as such it is more like a man-made sandpit at the edge of the Blackwater. We went out dail ...- Read barbara misquita's review (285 words and 3 comments)

I booked this long weekend then read the reviews about Steeple Bay and was going to cancel the holiday after reading them. However, we had no complaints, the grass was cut, the pool was clean and open, the park was good and the caravan was excellent. We saw staff going round each day picking up litter. The club was clean and offered good entertainment but felt that the Loopy Club should be earlier in the evening. Overall, our £80 long weekend break was very good and we had no complaints ...- Read Guest's review (113 words and 1 comment)

Steeple bay is a very unique park off the beaten track, owners have been here for over 30 year and there children are they new owners of today. but the management never seem to take this on board and treat us, you don't like it leave. But why should we, as you can see management come and go, we like the area we pay good money, so we all deserve a little bit more respect, it makes me very sad to see all the holiday caravan plots are high priority and as an owner feeling neglected.

Its a lovely area. To think of buying a static on this site the way it is at the moment is a definite no no. Pool/showers nearly always not working. Fishing lake choked with weeds and uncared for. Site shop ridiculously expensive. Needs al ot more thought to bring people back.- Read Guest's review (52 words and 1 comment)
