Good Points: Great ethics, can be educational, brilliant play park ideal for picnics under the trees. use the free bus to save little legs

Bad Points: Can be manic on bank Holidays and full of fumes near roadways due to the number of people that bring cars in (should only be blue badge holders in my view!). If you have to go on a Bank holiday, plan to approach from the north to lessen your time in a traffic queue

General comments: Whipsnade Zoo is great. We have a annual pass as this costs no more that 2 trips. It is different to every other Zoo. Please leave your car in the car park and go round on foot or the free bus, kids love this. Take a picnic as well and you are set for a great day in a beautiful location. you do need to plan to make sure that you arrive in time for the displays. All the animals have plenty of room. The whole purpose of the park is the well being of the animals, this does mean sometimes that you wont see everything- the enclosures are large enough to enable animals to hide etc. I would say definitely pick your day to visit carefully. It is no fun if it rains and it is always a little colder up there than anywhere else. if the weather is good take lots of lotion-wind burn is common!

I think for anyone who is passionate about animals you will love Whipsnade Zoo's latest attraction "Elephantastic" demonstrations allows specialist keepers to show visitors the training methods they use with these fantastic animals, as well as explaining why these are so important. Elephantastic! takes place daily at 2.30pm from Saturday 24 May until 7 September 2008.

Living in Milton Keynes I have taken my family there regularly over the last 15 years.

We visited Whipsnade Zoo over Easter 2 adults 1 child
It cost £45 to get in ( with 20% off vouchers ) plus £4 for car parking or £15 to take car around safari style

At the end of the visit we felt ripped off

Having been to Orlando I think ZSL could learn athing or two from the Americans they know how to do it
