“Great Day Out for Everyone”

This place has to be visited to appreciate. It is different from most other zoos you will see and when you visit you will see why. The animals are all so happy and friendly as are the staff. Particularly I enjoyed the animal handling session. You can go around the whole zoo twice in the day quite easily which you cannot say for all zoos, so you are guaranteed to not only have a great day out but you wont miss anything either. Old fashioned type zoo, Animals kept in small cages with lots of wire mesh, Lots of the animals showing boredom behaviour, This is a horrible zoo, we were disgusted with the standard of the enclosures. Please dont go there, Newquay and paignton are much better zoos. (read more)

Exmoor Zoo is an excellent place to see animals in beautifully wild surroundings. Easy to stay all day and wonder where the time went! Staff friendly and informative and set in beautiful Devon countryside. (read more)

love exmoor zoo. we go there every year and have seen many changes. the talks given are hugely informative and interesting. my son was zoo keeper for a day last year and loved every minute, we are hoping he can do it again this year, making a special trip down there for him(6 hour trip!)he wants to be a zooligist and really wants to work at exmoor zoo when he leaves school. A zoo that we can thoroughly recommend to anyone. It is very good value (£8 adults). Like many others that we met on our visit, although we have been to Devon many times, we were unaware that Exmoor had a zoo and we feel that it is a pity that there is not better advertising for this jewel in beautiful countryside. Whenever we are in Devon, from now on, we will visit to see latest developments (read more)
