Good Points: This is a small company that allows the bride to custom design her wedding in Key West, Florida. We were married at sunset (BEAUTIFUL) sailing on the ocean. It was incredibly romantic and intimate between the two of us.
Bad Points: See below...
General comments: First of all, I wanted a pirate ship. That is the whole reason I called FantaSea Weddings in the first place. The lady said yes, I would be getting married on a pirate ship, blah, blah, blah.."You guys can even dress in pirate costumes!" she laughingly said. Well, I am glad that we didn't dress up, because we arrived to the place where we were going to "board" ship, and on the right was a gorgeous, big pirate ship complete with jolly roger and all...and on the left was our ship...a very small, old sail boat. Wow, we were DISAPPOINTED! No one in their right mind would ever refer to it as a "pirate ship". So, we go and have our little ceremony (we had to sit down because the boat was so small I was afraid to fall off) and that was fun. It really was so romantic. I have to say the Key West sunset saved me from being angry. They were so unorganized!!!! Well, it gets WORSE....WE WERE MARRIED OVER TWO MONTHS AGO AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED OUR MARRIAGE LICENSE!! IT HAS BEEN EMAIL AFTER EMAIL, AND THEY TAKE FOREVER TO RESPOND! I EVEN SPOKE TO THE KEY WEST COURTHOUSE ABOUT THIS TWICE!! WHAT IT ALL COMES DOWN TO IS THAT THE OFFICIANT DID NOT REMEMBER TO MAIL IN MY PAPERWORK!!! MY HUSBAND AND I SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO GO THERE TO GET MARRIED ON A PIRATE SHIP, AND THE LEAST THEY COULD DO IS PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF LEGAL MATTERS IN A TIMELY FASHION!!! NOW THE COURTHOUSE IS TAKING CARE OF IT FOR ME. (THE PEOPLE AT COURTHOUSE ARE GREAT)!I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND GOING TO KEY WEST, MAYBE EVEN GETTING MARRIED THERE. IT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, FUN, AND JUST A GREAT SURREAL PLACE TO GO.
BUT, I WOULD SAY RESEARCH MANY OTHER PLACES TO GET HITCHED...THERE ARE SEVERAL WEDDING COMPANIES THERE TO CHOOSE FROM. OR...JUST HONEYMOON THERE!! THEY CHARGED A BIT TOO MUCH FOR ALL THE HEADACHE AND DISAPPOINTMENT! I CANNOT REDO GETTING MARRIED...WE WILL JUST HAVE TO RENEW OUR VOWS!!(WE ARE BOTH YOUNG AND HAVE NEVER BEEN MARRIED BEFORE)!
