Good Points: As they say your call are answered quickly.
Bad Points: I have had an ongoing issue over my broadband speed for the last 6 weeks. I have in total supplied them with over 38 various speed tests. They sent a BT engineer to sort it out. On his job sheet it stated that we had a "no dial tone problem". The engineer to us that the problem was a broken cable, so for 1 week we had a large hole dug in our driveway. I reported to all parties that this was purley a contention issue as during the day we had speeds in excess of 5mb and after 16.30 speeds as low as 256kb. The pattern was exact every day. I am still waiting for the next response.
General comments: All in all when Unicom approached me it was to be a like for like transfer. After I complained that the router they supplied was only geared for one computer they told me this was like for like. I explained that I had 2 computers networked with BT, they did not do anything at first but did offer me £30 towards the cost of the new router. When the credit note came the £30 included VAT. I had an average speed of 6-7mb constant with BT, I am only 900m from the exchange here in Caistor, Lincs and so there should have been no problem. I have been told by BT that the reason for the poor service is that they have too many subscribers on each card. Hence the poor service.
Fortunately whilst looking through my contract it has come to light that I still pay BT for my broadband line (phew!) so no early cancellation. I am just awaiting final response before I go to OTELO and ask Unicom for a MAC code and move back to BT and rest assured the phones will be following.

We are coming up to 3 year contract period on September 2008. We moved offices in July 2007 and I tried to cancel initially in July 2007 but I was told that I cannot cancel or otherwise pay hefty termination fees. So I rolled over to the new premise with a view to just completing the 3 year period. There was no mention of 3 month period prior to contract period. And now when I called I was given different dates for the end of contract period. After multiple calls, I now have been told that I hav ...

The three year contract which we were tied into with Unicom Phone Company I feel was not explained fully by the salesman. He also promised cheaper phone calls than our previous supplier (Toucan). This did not transpire so far.

I am now trying to cancel my contract with Unicom Phone Company. They tell me that as I failed to notify in writing 3 months prior to the end of the contract that I am automatically on another 3 year term. This was not outlined to me by their sales person. If I had the choice I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!

3 year rolling contract. 3 month written notice to get out, otherwise another 3 years of poor service unless you pay hundreds in penalty charges. I will avoid this company.

The 3 year contact is very bad for all businesses. They over charged me and I waited up to 8 days for a repair while loosing customers by not having a phone. You have to give them at least 3 months notice before leaving. You can provide this notice at any time during your contract so it doesn't have to be just before 3 months. Bad company practice, avoid please.

This company ties you to a 3 year contract with penalty clauses for getting out. They don't make you aware of this and what's more if you don't give them enough written notice to terminate the first 3 year contract they role it over into the next 3 years. Avoid this company at all costs. The worst business practice I have ever come across.

We found ourselves stuck in a nightmare 3 year contract with Unicom Phone Company, we have been overcharged, we have never had a correct bill. But to add insult to injury we sent a letter giving 3 months notice and they have told us that we are four days late in cancelling and that they have signed us up for another 3 years contract and if we wish to cancel we will incur 100's of pounds in charges. Avoid this Company at all costs they operate sharp practices. I would also point out that you wo ...
