Underhand tactics used to sell telecoms with false advice given by salesmen, avoid this company at all costs, probably the worst of all the telecoms providers.

I tried to get in touch with the MD after the service level we received was a disgrace and I can only describe the staff approach as rude I was told that Steve Palmer the MD doesn't take calls from the public; apparently he is far too busy...!

I can only suggest you avoid this company at all costs we are now trying to get out of a 3 year contract and this god forsaken company want to charge us over £1000 to allow us to leave !!!!!

Please please please do not sign a contract with this company.
My husband is a builder who signed with Unicom at the side of a road where he was building an extension, he was given no time to read any of the small print, the 3 yr rolling contract was not revealed until we tried to change (then you can only end the contract with 3mt notice pre the actual end of the contract, the salespeople have no customer skills, no communication skills and basically if they contact you asking you to sign up fo ...

DO NOT USE UNICOM. This company is terrible, I cancelled the contract after 7 days of signing up as I decicded to close my business, after a year they informed me that I had to pay a cancellation fee of £294. In my opinon this was an error on there part so I ignored the letters. Now I'm being chased for court costs and its totalin £445. There sales reps should wear black and white stripy jumpers and a small mask!
    Be warned!!

I am yet another who fell for unicoms 3 year rolling contract. Having served my term of 3 years we sold our business and even persuaded the new owner to take on the 3 lines. I was unable to give three months notice as at that point I did not know that the sale would proceed. I have been bombarded with texts, mobile phone calls and threatening letter and now face a county court judgement some three months after the business was sold. I have written with my complaints but all I get is their contra ...

Well firstly reading through the previous reviews, I am certain they are talking about another company than Unicom. I have been a customer of Unicom and they have treated me with the upmost respect and their Customer Service is second to none.

When they send out a rep they completely make you aware of the type of contract you are entering into, they even make it very clear when they call you over the phone prior to coming out. Lets face it they beat every other provider, mostly by saving you ...

Anyone thinking of using unicom should reconsider! Also be aware that if you take out another service such as a fax line like I did during your contract you will be starting a new 3 year contract for every service.

It has been interesting reading all these comments and encouraged me to continue fighting Unicom over over termination fees being unfairly applied. We cancelled our agreement because we have moved premises to France and the number ceases to exist. This is 3 years after the contract was signed but not 3 years before the supply date and Unicom have applied the principle of auto renewal (I had no idea whatsoever that it existed in their contract) to justify £1200 termination fees.
    Just a pa ...

I have also been sold a 3 year rolling contract and didn't know. They should tell you when you agree to go with them and then they would keep your business in an honest way.

having been cold called by unicom l asked that they send me details in writing to arrive after l returned from holiday, they completely ignored this and l came home to find both my home and business lines had been taken over and l had no opportunity to invoke the 14 day cooling off period. I am still trying to resolve this situation but have found it impossible to get any kind of truthful response, they constantly fail to return my calls and the tele staff are evasive and seemingly cannot answ ...

I have been with Unicom for a few years now and have saved thousands in this time , recently i opened a new business so naturally shopped around but have decided to put my new phone on with Unicom as well.
Whilst shopping around for alternatives i discovered this site and read some negative stuff but given my actual experience over a long time will stick with them.

I have received a phonecall at my work from UNICOM & told them that my boss is on leave & that I cannot give permission for the line to be transfered. Next thing a contract arrived saying that the line will be taken over from BT on a certain date. I have phoned them immidiately to cancel this as it was never agreed in the first place. I am not even the account holder. And then they have the odasity to put my name up as the account holder. In other words if the tea lady has answered the phone, ...

Again I have fallen prey to Unicom's 3 year roll on contract scam. My contract was due to run out in December 2008. I moved premises in May 2008 and couldn't take the number with me as the STD code was different. I phoned Unicom and was told the contract was for another 6 months so I stuck to my promise and hounered the contract by diverting the number to my mobile while the 3 year deal was still in place. At no time did any of the Unicom team inform me of the 3 month termination term before the ...

Unicom are a rubbish company with an aggressive 3 year roll over contract which they neglect to inform you when you sign up. Very no completely economic with termination of contract details until you try to leave.

No one at Unicom Phone Company made me aware that I was signing up for 3 years or that I had to give 3 months notice. At best this is sharp practice. Companies should be able to keep customers on the quality and price of their service not a long contract with huge penalty charges.

I have been locked into Unicorn Phone Company for 5 years due to their rolling contract scam. They stonewall you if you complain and just keep repeating that you will be sued for £1200 if you try to leave them.

I had been hassled for approx 3 weeks before I found the time to talk with Unicom. I asked how long the whole thing would take and was told "5 mins". When I was finally read the Terms and Conditions I pulled them up on 3 main facts which were not explained clearly (inluding the length of contract) which I was told was only 1 year. They could not explain their errors and 40 mins later with them realizing I had them rumbled, they agreed to email the details to me. Needless to say, they never d ...
