I bought Sendai CD688 last year because it was all I could afford.
It dosen't store any radio stations.
The other day the sound just cut out. It looks like it still works there's just no sound coming through, I have gone back Halfords where I purchased it who als fitted it for me and they have checked my speakers and they are all fine and they don't know of any reason as to why it has stopped working. They are unable to send it back to the manufactures because I dont have a receipt I have all the original packaging but no receipt.
Thankfully I kept my original radio / cassette which I have just today had it installed back in to my car.
I can honestly say If I knew it was going to last this long I would never of wasted my money

I've just bought a car with this Sendai CD688 unit. It's rubbish. Difficult interface, the cd player cuts out on very small bumps in the road. It looks good though, as this was already fitted, i can't comment on its ease to fit. But spend a little more and get something better.

    Sendai CD688 is a waste of £50
The radio cuts in and out constantly and it doesnt store the radios stations. The Cd player stops everytime you hit a bump. There is no value for money here, you are much better off paying a little extra, I'm sure if you have one of these stereos you will agree with me.

sendai cd688 is a little cheap to the feel but not only does it play mp3 cd and usb but it was one of the only ones i could find (for a decent price) which has a slot for SD cards. With even a 2GB card I can fit just so much onto it.

Im not really one for sound so I cant really comment on that sort of thing im affraid but sounds ok for me.

I brought this Sendai CD688 myself and fitted to a ford Ka , It needed a rewiring kit that was well over priced and an ariel adapter , The type that has a long pin , , All in all a good quality sound if played at a reasonable level. Easy to use , good volume , clear radio , I find this item excellent value , Its a real bargain . Facia is attractive to look at and is removeable ,

After less than a year this pleasant looking Sendai CD688, though disappointing performer, has ceased to function as a CD player. The radio still works though drifts off statio easily.
A budget unit, but I'd still expect several years of steady operation from it.
