The hotel Sarges Hotel manager and staff are very friendly. The manager is very considerate about his guests. Location to shops and resturants very good. Bumsters and dancers can be very annoying.

I am lucky to have travelled to most places but there is something special about the Gambia they call it the smiling coast of Africa, well its that and much more can't wait to go back

For the price, this hotel is in a brilliant location, the rooms are clean and the manager is exceptional. We go back every year. Any problem he will put his self out to sort out.

We stayed at Sarges Hotel in January 2007, we only lasted 1 night. The noise from the night-club was horrendous there were 5 couples in our party and we changed to the Senegambia Hotel which was bliss. When we changed hotels the receptionist was very rude to us all and tried to charge us for changing hotels we could not believe it.

Central situation in Bakau, a genuine Gambian fishing village. Near a good food market, ten minutes from the beach. Banks, money changers, cyber cafe nearby. Craft market ten minutes walk, bush taxi to Banjul & Serrekunda very cheap. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Take a torch - streets very dark (but safe) at night. Power supply a little interesting ...
