Good Points: Style, design, ultra comfort, space, suspension, equipment, fantastic off-roading capability, 3.0 L DICOR engine with 300 nm torque, entertainment system with screens & DVD player, reverse-guide camera, and UTMOST RUGGEDNESS.

Bad Points: The electrical system of Blaupunkt screens hasn't been good. It goofs-up every now and then.

General comments: The new 3.0L DICOR (Direct injection, common-rail) engine on the Tata Safari is good with enough torque of 300nm. It is pretty capable for cruising on motorways n in cities. The 4WD system is fantastic and is capable of pulling away in almost any condition, where others may fail. However, the still newer 2.2L DICOR engine is a notch up. It has more torque and more importantly, much more power, which was somewhat lacking in the 3.0L engine. The 2.2L engine is of course more fuel efficient (to keep those SUV protestors at bay), much quieter, and more agile.

Indian off-roader represents a lot of car for the money, particularly with its high spec, and it has a high degree of rugged ability off-road.
