Good Points: excellent food, good ambience, attentive but unobtrusive service from friendly and professional staff.
Reasonably priced.
General comments: i would recommend The Gate of India restaurant to anyone who enjoys Indian food or wants to try it for the first time. The food is freshly prepared and you can taste the subtle flavours of the dishes.
I have eaten at this restaurant for 25 years on an average of twice a month and the food has yet to disappoint.
the restaurant will also adapt dishes to suit, for example tone down or increase the hotness of a dish.
The staff welcome children and as a family we have enjoyed many meals there together.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Tynemouth so after the meal its always nice to have a drink in the new bars on the street and then to take a walk along the beach.- Read Chunky Monkey's review (76 words)

I just love The Gate of India in Tynemouth. The food has always been perfect for me, and we have always had quick service, even when they have been busy. What more can I say?
My hubby and I always get a different dish so we can share. It is a lovely place to go when celebrating a birthday etc., and then you have all the pubs next to it.- Read radleyaa's review (74 words)
