Good Points: We got married on 12th August 2006 and used Brett Harkness Photography to shoot our wedding. We had a pre wedding shoot before the wedding where it gave us an opportunity to spend some time with him and get to know his style, whilst at the same time he got to know what we are like as a couple. It was a lovely afternoon, and Brett did lots of shots of us together, which were informal and fun. We were then invited into the studio a week later to view the piccies. At this point we were really excited, because we saw how he'd captured us in those few hours, and we knew that the wedding pictures were going to look fantastic. On the wedding day itself, Brett and his wife arrived early morning, and from the very first moment, they made me feel really relaxed, and half the time I didn't even know he was taking snaps of us. His style is very unobtrusive and relaxed. The day couldn't have been more perfect, and he captured the day just perfectly. What we didn't want was lots of staged pictures, cheesy shots of the groom jumping off walls etc. It just wasn't what we wanted. Luckily we found Brett and his style fitted our requirements perfectly. What is so fantastic about the pictures of the wedding is that he's really captured how everyone enjoyed themselves. When people have looked at our wedding album they can't believe half the shots that are in there, as most people didn't even realise that they had had their picture taken. The album looks perfect, and it flows from the moment Brett arrived at the house all the way through to the evening. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting fantastic pictures of the wedding. We felt it was so important to have fantastic pictures of the wedding, as once the day is over, you're left with memories and fab pictures! His wife also played an important part in the day, making sure my dress and hair looked great and helping Brett. She too is lovely, and gave us lots of advice, but without being intrusive on the day. What you don't want on your wedding day is being taken away from all your guests for hours of photos, and because of Brett's style, that's exactly what we didn't get! Which was exactly what we wanted!!! We spent abut 40 minutes away from guests having a walk round the grounds of the hotel whilst Brett snapped away, and we stopped every now and then to get some shots in different parts, and he chose some fantastic parts of the hotel grounds to snap away! Our wedding album is just perfect, and if we had our time again we wouldn't change a thing about our choice in photographer.
Bad Points: I really don't think we could think of any bad points. His pictures are great, his style is fab and his professional approach to his work is superb!!! He really has a unique flair to his work.
General comments: Brett Harkness Photography was recommended to us by a colleague at work. I remembered seeing her wedding photos and thinking WOW! 2 years later when we were looking round to find a photographer, and I just knew we had to use Brett Harkness Photography. We went to see a slide show at their studio in Oldham and instantly fell in love with their photos. The slide showed a whole host of wedding pictures, and we also looked at all the different choices of albums you can have, and we just knew you were going to get a quality service and package. I have to say our album is just perfect.
Brett's wife was fabulous. If you needed any help with finding videographers, florists or make up artists etc., she was always on hand to recommend people, and nothing seemed to much trouble! That's where I sourced many of our suppliers, via their recommendations, and we weren't to be disappointed, as the make-up artist we used was fab, as was the florist - Occasional Flowers.
Brett is exceptionally talented, and you can see that from all the work in his studio. We were so lucky that he was available! Although we did book over 12 months in advance! So if you want to book, I would get in touch, as he does get booked up!!
What was lovely about them was that they made a personal effort with us, and we didn't feel like they were there just doing a job! They took a general interest in us as a couple, and they took time out to get to know us!
If you want great pictures of your wedding day, I'd look no further and book Brett Harkness Photography!
