    No star please!
The worst estate agent in my whole life! I even got shouted at when I complained about the need of fixing various things in the flat. They don't let you contact the landlord and refuse to spend any money in the property without informing the landlord. (I guess it is easier for them to get the managing fee without doing a thing!)
I hope that any landlord or potential tenants can read all those bad reviews not make the same mistakes.

    Brutens saved us money
When we had negotiated the price and agreed to buy the property, Brutens offered an additional discount if we signed before the end of the financial year, and we hadn't even asked for it.
    Very helpful

This relates to the Notting Hill Branch of Bruten & Co.

Bruten & Co. are the most unprofessional and unethical estate agents I have ever come across. I have been renting an apartment through them for more than 3 years now. The only reason I have stayed on is because the apartment suits my needs. Also, I am a bit lazy to move.

In my experience, they are liars (I have evidence and have proved to them and the landlord that the Lettings Manager had lied to avoid expenditure) and have regularly tr ...

No stars, please! This is hands down the worst estate agency I have ever had the displeasure to deal with - and I was with Foxtons before! They misrepresented the flat, lied about when the flat would be ready to move into (which cost me a week in a hotel!) and I am still fighting to get my deposit back after over a month. They were rude and disrespectful from the second we put down our deposit.

I have nothing good to say about them whatsoever.

I am a former tenant with Bruten and must say that I have never done any business with a company as unprofessional and impolite as Brutens.

I have filled the matter with The dispute service, and strongly urge all tenants who are experiencing problems with brutens to do the same.

Brutens offered to pay back part of the money they took from the deposit on the condition that we did not take the matter forward. We rejected this offer and the dispute is currently with the TDS

    At contract signing ...

Would not recommend brutens, even to an enemy. Some of the reviewers here are right. They start off being nice, but once you have signed on the dotted line, that is where the service ends. They don't return calls, refuse to negotiate, are rude and as their slogan describes, are family run and therefore, very unprofessional.

The flip side is that they are the appointed agents for properties which are of reasonable standard at least, but hey, there are tons of properties for rent in the London a ...

    - Contacted us 1 day before move in and requested 6 months up front deposit or we were not allowed to move in.
    - An attendant was only available when we signed the contract and therefor eno one from Brutens actually went through it with us.
    - We were first time renters in London and Brutens did not help us at all. Advised us that a check in clerk was there when we moved in but did not tell us their purpose or what it would be used for later on (i.e. comparing with check out clerk)
    - Were very qu ...

Brutens & Co is the most unprofessional, disrepectful business people I have ever come across. This agency, especially the Notting Hill branch, should not even be in business!

As a tenant, that paid rent on time and respected the property I lived in, I was appalled at how I was treated by this letting agency.

These people are evasive when you need to contact them, and outright refuse to respond to basic queries or requests. They refuse to take calls, return calls or organise face to face meet ...

You're financially better off buying a house than paying all of Brutens hidden costs.

Brutens & Co. were so nice when showing us the place then when we signed with them were rubish at getting us in on time. They were slow at getting our references but quick with taking our money !!! then when we moved out charged us for the inventory ( WHICH THEY DON'T STATE TO YOU) Then their clients who owned the flat tried to charge us half our deposit for a few wear and tears we had to fight to get it back !! and took a month ti get our deposit back and another month to get the rest back whic ...

I have dealt with them on purchasing, selling and renting my property. I found them to be quite efficient.Of course, there were problems, they tried to resolve them quickly and without drama.I would certainly recommend Brutens & Co.

Brutens Estate Agents were nice to me. Once this was completed, they came across as totally disinterested.
One particular person I dealt with didn't even greet me when I came in to sign the contract, but was the nicest person when they were showing me places beforehand. A complete disappointment.

Bruten & Co is the worst company I have ever been in contact with.
They seem reluctant to assist the tenant even when it would not cost them anything or the contract stated their responsibility.
In the end I had to move out even thought I normally rent for years at a time.
You don't write a review if they did what you paid for, but it is worrying to find similar stories, knowing that Bruten and Company are upsetting other trusting customers.

I instructed a few agents to sell my flat in Bayswater, including Brutens & Co and Foxtons and all the big chains. I was scared it would not sell because of the recession. They were helpful from the start, gave great feedback, but most importantly they were the agent that sold it.

Lovely at the start of it all, when they are showing you the properties

Shocking at getting back to you with the details. Moving into a place this weekend and still haven't received the contract! We have been actively contacting them (a total of 5 phone calls today, 2 emails) and still nothing!

Brutens & Co start of nice and efficient when you first meet them. But the minute you call them out on mistakes and anything that is bad for the landlord, they turn very nasty, very quickly. We had many instances of negligence, and terrible customer service, and ended up leaving and having large part of deposit removed for no reason. I personally refuse to ever use them again, and urge you to avoid Brutens & Co.
