    this fridge freezer was repaired 5 times then I managed to get a new one on insurance never by this again

    Absolute rubbish - wish i had never bought it, the freezer drawers all either broke by themselves mysteriously in the night with a bang or they would fall out and break on the floor whenever the door was opened. Now everything slides forward pushing open the freezer door without warning.... Not good!!

    Also had this Freezer for 53.5 years, extended guarantee for 2 years with fear that (popping and banging) was about to end its life. 6 months out of extended guarantee, Fridge compartment has stopped working. Defrosted Freezer, but suspect fan in Freezer fas failed. May try a replacement, but could be good money wasted on an already disappointing hotpoint product.
    Hopefully I will send this page link of complaints to hotpoint and make the point obvious to them!

    Had FFA97 Hotpoint for about 3-4 yrs and like all the other in this range the fridge is getting warm then the freezer starts to get warm tried defrosting it as recomended and it works for a day then goes off again. Hotpoint apparently know about this fault however will not stand by it!!!!!!!!

    Very dissapointed with this fridge freezer,not even 2 years old and costing nearly £400 it broke down without any warning. It is a good looking fridge freezer on the outside but the interior fittings are very poor.Lightbulb cover kept falling off had to selotape it to keep it on.Interior drawers flimsy and cracked very easy.Would not buy a hotpoint product ever again.

    i have had the same problem with my hotpoint ffa97- noisy bangs and cracks and then just suddenly stopped working on the hottest day of the year and only 3 years old approx.

    Only had this Hotpoint FFA97 fridge freezer 3 years, VERY noisy, cracks and bangs loud enough to disturb watching TV! After only 3 Years, Fridge compartment stopped working! Not what I paid nearly £400 for.!!!

    have been waiting 11 weeks for a replacement door tray for the Hotpoint FFA97,which snapped off. we are now wrangling with hotpoint and currrys whatever happens insurance which we took out with them.they say that the door does not affect the running of the fridge freezer.
    totally unacceptable.

    had my FFA97 fridge freezer just over 2 years with no problems until recently!! when closing fridge door sounded like a plane taking off turned it off for a few hours turned it back on wish was working fine till 2 weeks later then there was a loud crashing sound in fridge and freezer sounded like it was going to explode!! with panic rang an engineer but later discovered the problem where it was coming from the drawers behind the freezer unscrewed the compartment and there was a large block of ic ...

    Broken twice in two years. Fridge stops working with no alarm or warning. Light cover falls off frequently. Overall I feel it was cheaply made and very poor quality. Would not recommend this make and model.

    This is not the first time we had problems with a Fridge freezer from the Hotpoint FFA range. The first one had problems with the freezer section not being cold enough after about 3 and a bit years, the most recent one, the FFA97 now has a problem with the fridge section being warm after just two year. I would certainly not buy a Hotpoint item again or recommend it to anyone

    I have my Hotpoint FFA97 since Sept 06 and it has broken down. The fridge compartment is warm and the frost free fr frzr is frosting up. I will do myself a favour and not buy a Hotpoint ff ever again.

    Had to have my Hotpoint FFA97 fridge freezer repaired 3 times in 2 years, very annoyed same problem twice. Would not buy Hotpoint again

    Unfortunately the bad points of this Hotpoint FFA97 far outweigh the good points. The banging and cracking noises are incredible and I cannot believe that these could not have been designed out with some more research and development.
    The plastic freezer trays are much too flimsy and the corners on mine have broken off despite very carefull use. Hotpoint told me all sorts of nonsense about them being "cosmetic" items therefore not covered under the five year parts warranty. This is despite the i ...

    Once you get used to the noise it is a smart and very practical appliance and excellent value for money.

    I would recommend this fridge freezer to any friend without hesitation providing they are hard of hearing.

    Our Hotpoint fridge-freezer was noisy from day one, and just a few weeks out of twelve month warranty, it became clear that the fridge was not working and all the food was becoming warm.

    We called Hotpoint who said we would have to pay for a repair, which we weren't too thrilled about as we felt that such an item was not really of merchantable quality to break at fourteen months old.
