General comments: This is one of my favourite PS2 games - and I'll give it the respect it deserves by writing a short review.

War of the Monsters is one of the best games I've ever played... and this is because it's so much fun. It has an arcade feel and is pretty simple - the single player storyline only takes about two hours to complete but the main aim of the game is to collect "tokens" - and use them to unlock new monsters, mini games, levels, costumes, and more.

The best thing about this game is the multiplayer - me and my brother can lose ourselves for hours as we battle it out as giant robots, aliens or monsters on the many different maps that this game has to offer.

The environments are fully destructible, which is a nice feature and adds a lot to the game.

There are also many hidden features such a UFO that makes a tidal wave with its laser beam on one level, and an earthquake on another - there may be more but I haven't found them.

I also like the way that you can pick anything up and throw it - throw explosive tankers, or cars, or you can even use a radio mast as a spear.

I'm not sure how old this game is, and I've never really seen it on sale anywhere apart from in Blockbuster where I bought mine second hand. This is a rare game, but well worth it if you can find a copy!

There is too much to say about this game in one review - but I hope I've summarised what War of the Monsters is all about.

Very highly recommended... there's just nothing bad to say about this game at all! Congratulations to everyone who made it - this game deserves more promotion and higher praise.
