My six Pugs have been fed on nature diet for years I have produced two international champions on it and buy a box of 18 a week,so no problems with the food. My problem is the packaging its frustrating when the tray will just not open, the last box of lamb not one would open, why is this? Any plans to improve? Having to use a knife or scissors is a pain.

Decided to put my Westie back on Nature Diet after a 6 month break (nothing to do with ND) I have read a lot of negative reviews about it being a new recipe, sloppy etc. Westie has been back on it for a week now, I see no difference at all in the quality and consistency, I can still chop it into chunks for him, he has had no upset stomach & his'poo' is nice and firm. I have no regrets about going back to Nature Diet and recommend it without hesitation.

I have a 9 year old Weimeraner crossbreed who, to put it midly has serious digestive upset, stomach acid and I have to be very cautious what I feed her. I was reluctant to try Naurediet as I have read a lot of bad reviews about mouldy contents and blown packets. I liked the contents in it as there are no nasty cereals, additives and fillers and the meat content is very high. I have started feeding her the Senior lite variety and her stomach has improved tremendously. Very little stomach gurgles now and she absolutely loves it. It doesn't touch the sides and for the first time in her life she licks her bowl clean. I mix it with the Burns hypoallergenic mixer (another great product, though expensive) as I feel it important to combine with a mixer to help with their teeth and provide fibre. I went to pets at home last week and they didn't have the senior varity so I got her the chicken one and it resulted to a trip to the vets. Nothing to do with the Naturediet, the vet said if they are sensitive, it is important to stick to the same flavour as their gut bacteria reacts badly to another meat source. She is now back on the Senior along with an antibiotic and has now returned to normal. Naturediet is the closest you will get to the BARF diet as it also contains ground bone. I would highly recommend this food for anyone with a dog with digestive problems. Never had any probems with blown packets or bad smelling food either. If i did then I would not feed it my dog and return it to the retailer.

I have two jack russels and when we got then as puppies, i was feeding them pedigree chum, the dogs were sick, lazy and nipping thier skin.. i stumbled across ND in my local pet store and tried it.. and have never looked back!!! My dogs have changed so much, they are really lively and happy, thier coat is so soft, they dont poo as much as they did and its alot more solid,.. I change around the flavours so the dogs dont get bored with the same one all the time.. however they refuse to eat the fish one... I cant recommend this product highly enough, it works out better value than pedigree chum and alot better quality.. well done..

I have read the negative reviews regarding this dog food and have only good words to say about Naturediet. I live in France and in the past was only able to obtain it via Zooplus. They seem to be in the habit of breaking up the original boxes and I had a lot of problems with blown packs. However, I am now able to order via Amazon UK and have had no problems at all as I receive them in the original boxes, firmly secured. I have a Cavalier King Charles who was very ill 2 years ago, and if it wasn't for Naturediet would not have survived. He had serious liver problems and even simple food such as fish and rice just went straight through him. He is 12 now and eats one tray per day. I wish I could buy Naturediet locally, but thanks to Amazon and their excellent service, my little dog continues to live contentedly. He loves all the varieties equally, and although it is not a cheap product, it is well worth paying that bit more for Naturediet as it consists of only good ingredients, and no rubbish. A big THANK YOU to Amazon UK as well as the manufacturers.

our g/s aged 9 over the years always suffered diarrhea we constantly cnanged foods he wouldnot touch dry biscuits i was given a couple free packs of nature diet to try he ate them no trouble so we purchase regularly now it was feb/2012 we started him on this food our son travels with him most of the year and the dog eats all the food when he comes home to us he plays us .so what we do now is cook lambs liver ox/ pork/ chicken gives him loose stools. we chop it up & mix it with the nature diet we dont have to tell him to eat it he just does . with / without the liver added he never gets diarhea we feel the stools are as they should be not like gravy which caused problems whilst walking him. he has a better coat/more content sleeps better. the only problem my son had was one box of 54 packets were split & foul smelling but after contacting our supplier they collected them and sent a replacement box.we are still not 100percent whether this is the best food he should be on but whilst the diarrhea has gone we are leaving well alone at least he doesnot have to have medication as before for the diarrhea or starved for 24hrs at a time which we felt he was sufferingso thank you nature diet for now our g/s is happy.

My dogs love this food, we also have a new puppy and this is the only food she will be eager to eat. We buy the food from wholesale (we have a trade account) and have never had a bad/blown packet. We keep the food in our cool garage before use. and use a pack within 24hours when opened. The dogs love the food, even the fussiest of them all.

We should all stop complaining no other food comes close.I don't mind checking that the food doesn't smell.Think of the money saved in vet bills.

The difference in our dog since going onto Nature Diet has been outstanding - results not seen with any other dog food which we have tried. It was recommended to us by a behaviourist and we have not looked back since! Our dog's poos now have no smell, are completely dry and are much smaller than they once were.
We have had a few packets which have smelt a little "unusual" but certainly not rancid like some of the reviews have said. We've noticed it more with the lamb than with the other flavours. We have fed these packets to our dog and had no side effects from them whatsoever.
Going forward, I will return the packs which smell a little funny to our supplier - I would be interested to hear though if anyone has actually fed one of these packs to their dog and they've been ill as a result. Just because the food smells a little, this might just be as a result of its contact with the air, rather than it than it actually being off. We've certainly had no adverse effects from the food to date.
We now have an eleven week old puppy and are beginning to wean him onto Nature Diet. I'm a little more concerned about the possibility of having off packets with a puppy because whilst our other dog seems to have a stomach of stone, puppies are obviously a little more delicate. I will therefore check the puppy packs much more carefully from now on - so thanks to everyone for the reviews.

Read the reviews, many have had food poisoning and my puppy was sick for24 hours but luckily only fed a little to her. Be careful the packaging does not seal properly and air gets in! Being veggie wasn't sure how food should smell, don't expect puppy food to be off!, won't buy ever again, too much risk.

I have recently transitioned my Northern Inuit puppy (11 weeks) from Wainwright moist puppy trays to Naturediet Puppy in the moist tray and I have to say so far it has been fantastic (fingers crossed).
I had been feeding Wainwrights since 8 weeks old, based on some research I had done online, I have found nothing but trouble with it. Puppy was constantly having loose stools and going to the toilet up to 6 times a day. The poo was pudding soft, with mucus and slime init. I can only assume it caused a slight case of Colitus. I gradually weaned her off the stuff onto NatureDiet, and ever since she has been as very happy pup. Nice firm poos, and going to the toliet 3-4 times a day with proper sized poos (sorry to be gross, but you know how it is!)
So I am not sure whether my pup was sensitive to whatever they put into Wainwrights, but it was not agreeing with her. I am slightly dubious now of anything that is a Pets at Home own brand.

I have been feeding this to my Parsons terrier for three months now. I use it in addition to JWB dry kibble. I have found it to be a very good quality food which has so far been in very good condition with none of the problems of blown cartons as mentioned by some of the other posts. The dog had previously suffered various food related alergies which now seem to have cleared up since switching to the JWB and Nature diet combo. I will continue to use this product as it's quality is without doubt the best I have used

I cannot understand the bad comments that i have seen my 2 year old german shepherd has been fantastic on nature diet his stools are fine, the comments about blown packaging are unbelievable i check the food i buy as i do for my family.Perhaps people should check their suppliers for quality. If any of these complaints had been directly supplied by nature diets and then had complaints ignored i would be concerned about that but that does not look like the case buying expensive food cheap from the market perhaps.

When your dog has been seriously ill after eating rotten dog food, well within the the sell by date, from a reputable supplier, you might have a different attitude!

Have you actually read how many reviews say the same thing?

I find your comments very insulting and suggest you check your meat carefully before feeding it to your dogs!

Unfortunately the last lot of "blown" packs, and those where there is a large lump of mouldy content halfway down (without any external sign of a problem) have all been supplied by Naturediet themselves. I have e-mailed them, but no response as yet.

Our collie cross had problems with collitis prior to using this product - he is so much better now and knowing what I know now I would always use a wet food rather than dry. We always bulk out his food with more carrots and rice. Have noticed a difference since we have gone on to brown rice - he is even better. Great product would recommend highly.

NO HORRID SMELL ON OPENING POUCH. INGREDIENTS LOOK WHOLESOME. MY DOGS EAT WITH HANDFUL OF MIXER WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM. MY STD.SCHNAUZER HAD COLITUS, I CHANGED FROM DRIED FOOD TO NATUREDIET & SHE IS NOW 100% O.K.
BUT MY BOXER IS STILL 'WINDY'!! A very good product.

When we got our patterdale dog we spent the first year of his life in the vets. Wouldnt eat properly, vomited all the time, runny mess, skin complaints. It realy upset us as we took the very best care of him. I did lots of reserch and changed him to nature diet. We have never looked back. He has no food scraps at all just nature diet and steamed organic chicken and we have not been to the vet since. His mess is solid he eats two meals a day and never leaves a scrap his teeth are beautiful and his coat shines. We got a bitch puppy at the same time we changed his food and she has only ever eaten nature diet from 8 weeks old she is 11 months now and has never needed to visit the vet eats like a horse and is the picture of health. Nature diet is the only food i will ever let my dogs eat. It may be a few more pence than supermarket brands but there is no waste and healthy happy dogs so i think that makes it cheap in comparison.

Naturediet Pet Foods is excellent food, my 12 week old lab puppy has a sensitive stomach and has been on bland food a friend recommended naturediet and I haven't looked back. He absolutely loves it and now asks for more which before he never seemed interested in his food.
Would recommend to anyone who has problems with their dog not liking their current food.

Naturediet have excellent customer service, and spot on nutritional help: they asked all about my dog before recommending a starting recipe and amount of food.
Their pet food is not tested on animals, like some of the bigger companies do, and they are approved by the Holistic association BAHNM.

I have completely the opposite problem, since my last delivery of the New Improved Nature diet I've had to ditch a whole case of chicken because the cases were either cracked or blown. Swell pets replaced them and ever since ive had my dog on two days Nature Diet followed by diarrhoea, apricot coloured poos and bloated tummy, so back on chicken /rice/scrambled egg. This has been going on for months now and I'm left with over 36 packs of food I can't feed to my pet. I also feel rather embarrassed as I intro my friend to this product and one of her two dogs is having the same problem.. I am going to write this up on the Nature Diet FB page as I now know of 6 people who are all having gastro problems with their dogs who never had a problem before.
