We booked Oregnao for a work's Christmas dinner for 18 of us and used the room upstairs. Whilst the waiting staff were very pleasant and the food was lovely, the management was an absolute disgrace! I have never come across a ruder woman in my life! She accused us of bringing in our own alcohol (what was actually our secret santa presents and no alcohol was involved) and proceeded to have 'a go' at us and then walk away when we tried to respond! One very arrogant lady! She did return after several requests and simply wanted to search the massive santa sack!
I will never eat here again or recommend it while she is still there.
Complete disappointment and put a downer on our party.
(Please note I don't want to give a star for quality of service but this will not save without it, so I have selected one.)

As a group of 18 friends, we booked the private room on the first floor. After everyone arrived, a senior member of staff who refused to introduce herself walked around our table looking underneath it. She then told us to hand over any alchohol we'd brought with us or we'd to asked to leave. We had to prove we didn't bring anything! No apology from the offending person and very average food.
A real disappoint!- Read C McK's review (74 words)

A group of us ate here recently, we were recommended to go by friends. I went onto the website were I viewed a sample menu it also stated it was child friendly and as I was taking my son who is 18 months old i thought that was important. When we arrived I felt the atmosphere was very formal so I instantly felt uneasy with a toddler as I was nervous of others reactions to him. The service was quick and efficent and the staff friendly. The one thing which I do think lets the restaurant down is the ...- Read Guest's review (247 words)

Four of us went to Oregano this evening for the bistro menu which was pretty limited.
The food it self was lovely, if somewhat small portions, but it was tasty.
My main gripe would be that I ordered a glass of shandy and was charged £4.45 for this. When I raised this issue when paying they said they had to open a bottle of bear and also a bottle of lemonade.
Most expensive glass of shandy I ever had.
If they had been nice about it I wouldn't have minded but their attitude was basica ...- Read kateco's review (98 words)

I ate hear recently and I ordered a squid starter, the squid was chargrilled to the point you could not taste anything else except the charring in my opinion. I complained straight away but nothing was done so I complained again at the end of the night when paying the bill. I was asked was I sure it just wasn't down to my taste or perhaps it was my choice of wine, I assured them it was no such thing and reluctantly they removed it from the bill. When the bill was settled I was handed back my car ...- Read alansonline's review (179 words and 1 comment)

Oregano is Ballyclare's best kept secret! Have been with my wife and friends on numerous occasions, lunch & dinner and the food never fails! Its so nice to have somewhere out of Belfast serving fresh home cooked food and I see that they have their own herb garden, nice touch!
The staff are great and we always have a good night out.- Read jack o bean's review (87 words)
