I have applied for many jobs with them, registered with them and they have not bothered to keep in touch in regards to jobs. The worst recruitment agency! I would not recommend them to anybody. They seemed friendly when I went to register and said they would be in touch. I have not had a call from them once! They spam websites like Reed and totaljobs and it seems that there are loads of jobs but they have advertised the same job 5 or 6 times! How can we make complaints against them? (read more)

I have applied to numerous positions that I know I am more than qualified for through this agency and they did not have the courtesy to respond. I am beginging to believe that they employed people based on where they live. They need to be investigated and employers need to stop using them. (read more)

I registered with Katie Bard a couple of months ago. I am a recent law graduate with a very good academic record and a fair amount of experience in busy administrative roles. I too went through the very lengthy process of registration etc. During the interview the job I had expressed an interest in was not mentioned (surprise surprise, it probably didn't even exist). Despite the fact that I have impeccable grades and some solid work exp, I feel like Katie Bard treated me like I was bottom... (read more)

Where do you start with this agency. I have used them as a candidate and behalf of a company as i handle all the inhouse recruitment. As a candidate, there treatment of candidates is awful with little communication and clueless consultants. Do not touch them with a barge pole if your a candidate and want a realistic good service unless your a desperate graduate, in which case you will fit in well with the other clueless graduates who know nothing about recruitment. You constantly get messed... (read more)

I have applied to numerous roles advertised by this agency and havent recieved so much as a phone call or email back. I actually work in recruitment, I am applying for relevant roles and have lots of experience - so i have been very surprised not to hear back from them. I know agencies cant contact everyone, i didnt used to either. But i am convinced a lot of their advertised roles dont exist. I have given up applying to the roles advertised especially as I now have numerous interviews... (read more)

I also applied for the 'Graduate Trainee Recruitment Consultant' role in January this year. I was quickly emailed by their 'longest serving' consultant asking me to call for a chat. When I did, no reference was made to the role I had applied for, she simply asked me the generic 'what type of work are you looking for?' questions. She was keen to get me in for interview and arranged for me to meet with 2 consultants the following day. When I arrived, it became clear they were only... (read more)

I think your not the only one as the service and treatment from katiebard is awful. Do not touch them with a barge pole and thats business's as well. I was looking for an administrator and on behalf of a company and the consultant Alice Gagg didn't have a clue about recruitment processes and discrimination. There was no way i was using a company with clueless graduate consultants who havn't got a clue about recruitment themselves. By the way most recruitment companies post fake adverts to attract gulable candidates through. A few other individuals have told of experiences with Katiebard and you do not want to be using them unless you want the runaround.
Their consultants are also clueless.

Quite often when I check the Reed website or other such admin job sites i will undoubtedly see jobs posted by Katie Bard in their dozens, I really wonder how many of these jobs actually exist. They re-word adverts and post multiple times so they receive as many applications as possible. They are definetly a recruitment firm to stay well clear of.
I have registered twice with Katie Bard. Once in 2009, and again earlier this year. On the first occassion, I applied for a job on the Reed...

Dont be fooled! After applying for a job role on reed.co.uk, advertised as "graduate trainee recruitment consultant" , i was phoned 5 minutes later and grilled with a multitude of questions : "Why do you want to be a rec consultant? Why ?? etc. I answred all their questions and was told i had an interview. Upon arrival i found it was nothing to do with a graduate position and just a desperate agency trying to get me to sign up. By this time i was too suspicious to sign up and , judging by... (read more)

After the first lot of redundancies were anounced (with my now old company) I signed up with them in 2007. Lets just put it this way, I am STILL waiting for them to get back to me after leaving various messages!!!
REALLY REALLY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have joined a number of agencies since I have been made redundant and Katie Bard was the only one who was supplying me with constant temp work when I needed it. The staff were very helpful in explaining how their company worked and how much they valued their candidates. The consultants were very knowledgable about the roles that they were putting me forward for and made me feel at ease when I started each new job by phoning me after my first day. Overall I would say I'm very satisfied with... (read more)

Katie Bard are without a doubt the worst agency I have ever signed with.
I originally began looking for work in Feb 2008 and approached Katie Bard. I went through the lengthy process of meeting up with the Consultant and completing all tests etc.
They found me a position I was interested in and within a week I was interviewed and offered the position.
After working at the placement for nearly two weeks I received another job proposal which offered more money and closer to home. I let my...

I've been with Katie Bard since the beginning of June. My experience has been fantastic. They were very attentive when I first met with them and didn't view me as a person who had good typing and IT skills, but rather as a person who was looking for a certain type of role to fill. Within days, they had put me forward for three perm positions, one of which I got an interview for. I will agree that it is frustrating to not hear back if you were rejected by a company after being put... (read more)

l have been registered with Katie Bard for the past year and a half, l apply for the jobs they advertise but l as far as I am aware I have not yet got a response even though the jobs do have my experience. l register with other agencies and within a week they had a role for me even though it was a temp role but at least they did find something and I am not happy with the customer communication from Katie Bard. l'm really dissappointed with Katie Bard. Temp work is rarely a straightforward procedure, and with companies like KATIE BARD www.katiebard.co.uk, that is no surprise.
Not only do 'ghost' jobs fill Internet search results, they are sometimes not what they are advertised as in terms of pay or duties. Should you be considered worthy enough to 'pass' their interviews and IT tests - and even if you score super high marks, this means nothing in the world of temping! You must have experience stuffing envelopes to do that kind of role,...

Had a similar experience, all talk and no trousers in the "aim higher" and "doing the best for you" departments. Very irritating!

I had a young girl from Katie Bard scream down the phone that she saw my CV online. Instead of asking if it was OK to talk, she just launched right in and started asking questions etc. It was very akward and now everybody, including my boss knows that I am in the job market!

I went here about a graduate job, never heard much about the actual position advertised and was told I might as well sign up as a temp too... they must get more money that way or something because after 6 weeks infrequent work (2 days here or there, etc), they didn't contact me about perm roles that were almost the same on totaljobs and ignored the fact I was looking when I called about them.

They are awful in my opinion. Would never go near them! They did not go out of their way to help me, they give me the impression that they are really doing me a favour by helping to get a job. Overall I found them rude and unhelpful.

A few months ago I went to register with this agency. They gave me all the usual agency spiel about my skill-set and experience and how they would easily find me work etc etc etc. Well, they turned out to like 99% of agencies in this respect, but they did tell me that the relationship with them would be a two-way process so I should email or phone them once a week to let them know I was still around etc. Then suddenly the told me that I couldn't be placed because I lived too far away from central London to get to work on time. Well, I live a 20 minute Tube journey away and in 14 years living here I have only been late 3 times and this was due once to London bombs, once to massive electrical failure and once to the Tube breaking down. Nothing to do with where Iive. What an excuse to come up with. They would have known where I lived if they had read my CV. I have worked with people who travel down from the Midlands every day ...
