    Bad Points: They should be brushed regularly and problems will arise if you let their coats mat. They do moult heavily once or twice a year but in between they don't shed much and you can always spin the hair into really fine wool
    I you don't rain them they can be very vocal. As an owner it is good to have a dog that talks to you with a wide range of sounds but the downside is when they start barking for attention.


    General comments: Samoyeds are fun; they have a sense of humour and will play with you. They need stimulation and will find something to chew which you value if left too long bored. They are empathetic and I have known my dogs suddenly go up to a very unhappy person and nuzzle them for some fuss and seem to give the person great comfort.
    They are very beautiful and you get lots of compliments about how clean and smart they look even though you've not had a chance to brush them!

    Samoyeds are wonderful dogs and if you have the time and love to walk them regularly and care for them they make brilliant companions.

    I think Samoyeds are by FAR the best breed for a family pet if you have a yard and the time. They are so loveable, and not just beautiful but they have the personality (not like a husky who is beautiful but loves to run away). They don't guard, but they will bark when someone comes to the door. They are often confused with the Spitz, who has no relation so I've heard bad things from people thinking it was a samoyed but it was a spitz.
