    Good Points: Very fast.
Neat and good looking with narrow silver surround.
Very easy to install and setup.
    Sturdy base with oddments tray.
    Good protective packaging
Takes up far less space than the corresponding CRT monitor

Bad Points: 2 USB ports on rear not easy to access.
No USB link or DVI cable supplied, only VGA.

General comments: The HP L2045W is letter-box format monitor, primarily for business/office use which operates at up 1680 1050 @ 75Hz
There are no inbuilt loudspeakers, which in my view is fine as they're usually very poor anyway.
    There two USB ports.
The base/stand is sturdy, and could have been smaller.
The screen position can be easily adjusted.

The screen measures 20" diagonally, as advertised, but it is only 10.7" high and 17.2" wide. That height is less than a conventional 19" monitor, so it may appear smaller than expected, but it is of course much wider - wide enough for two 800 600 windows to sit side by side with no over lap.

It takes up far less space than my old 19" CRT monitor, and produces less heat.

The colour is even across the screen, it refreshes very quickly (5ms is advertised) and there are no dead pixels.

Installation was very easy, and the (WinXP) drivers installed from supplied CD-ROM with no need for a re-boot. I already had a DVI cable for the digital output from my graphics card, as one was not supplied; only a VGA one was. There was no need for me make any adjustments to the initial settings. The monitor's own control is comprehensive and easy to use.

No cable to support the USB port was supplied, and one of my USB pendrives could not be inserted because of lack of surrounding space. There's no problem with the standard USB plus on, for example. A link to a camera or printer.

I bought on-line at DABS and for some unknown reason received a £20 discount, making it £159 + VAT. Delivery was free. Very welcome!

There was an enormous amount of protective packaging, but most of it can be recycled.
