Good Points: Fast, good looking and cheap. The Sierra Cosworth 2wd is a legend and has kept Ford in the motorsport history books and top in the street car performance stakes (sorry Japan, you haven't made it yet :-)) The cossy is comfy, reliable and you can make them VERY quick for not a lot of money. For the price of a Skyline Intercooler you can tune a cossy to 380bhp and trust me you wont need anything quicker for the road.

Bad Points: It's a shame to take a good one out in bad weather as there aren't many left and Fords aren't renowned for holding off rust very well. Also the management is a little old now so tiny running problems are starting to show their ugly heads but replace that with a modern after market unit and there isn't any modern car that's as nice.

General comments: The Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth is a wolf in sheep's clothing and still looks the business nowadays. I've driven all sorts of motors including 911 Turbo's (both new and old), Skylines and M3's and none are as much fun, nor make the noises of a Cosworth YB motor. People respect that badge on the back even now and don't tend to sit on your bumper like in anything else - funny that isn't it. I mean when you've just spent £60,000 on a 355 Ferrari, your blasting down the duel carriageway and you've got a 1988 Sierra welded to your bumper it can be a little humiliating - I'm speaking from experience here. If you're thinking of buying a car for about £8000 or even a new car, don't waste money on devaluation, buy a cossy, an investment and a thrill.
