On Monday 14th Jan I called at Buxton store to look for wallpaper and found they were ALL 15% off . I was informed this offer was on until 21st Jan. Being a canny pensioner I waited until Wednesday to collect a further 10% off only to be told the offer was on no longer, so I was quite cross with the staff - who, bless them, - were really helpful and sympathetic but could not over ride the edict from above. I feel quite aggrieved to have had to pay £48.04 instead of the £40.53 I had... (read more)

I researched kitchens everywhere to try to get both quality and good value for money for the new kitchen in my new extension. After exhaustive and time consuming quotes and shopping around i chose Cooke and Lewis matt white. The kitchen and design assistants at the Coventry store are extremely professional and accomodating. The units themselves are really heavy and excellent quality. Easy to assemble and nothing missing. The deliveries were efficient and careful. Lots of communication so you... (read more)

The B & Q website is the worst site of all the ones I use for buying things, no exaggeration. It is slow, the information on the items is so poor that many times I do not buy because I fear buying the wrong item, the search engine is useless: it does not select the item type you are looking for and you end up looking through several (slow loading) pages until you find what you want. And the worst thing: the now incredibly annoying Flash Storage Settings window that appears on any flash... (read more)

We have visited this store twice recently while deciding on a paint colour and were appalled at the attitude of one member of staff at this store. On our first visit while browsing we could overhear a conversation this man was having with another member of staff. His language was terrible! I prayed he would not serve us on our second visit. Unfortunately he seemed to be the only member of staff present. We asked him if it was possible to match a wallpaper and mix some paint for us. He... (read more)

I'm over sixty and usually enjoy the benefits of Wednesdays 10% off on most goods, except bathroom and kitchen furniture/goods I have shopped at B&Q for many years and have alwys been happy with the service, until last Wednesday. The cashier seemed to enjoy refusing the 10% off a bath floor mat. A Floor mat for goodness sake! I thought that was a bit mean and the cashier seemed very pleased at catching me out. It's not like the usual staff at Whitstable and I suspect there's a new... (read more)

Yes- obtained a BQ tradecard and decided to put it to the test by ordering a BQ kitchen. Not only did they miss the timeslots on delivery they missed BOTH DAYS !! They admit it was their error on all occasions but no apology and because it was ordered on a tradecard no compensation for missed deadlines and extra fitting... (read more)

I took accurate measurements in. The kitchen did not fit correctly, lucky for me I hired a competent fitter who was able to get around most of the measurement oddities. Some doors would not of opened as they clashed with other doors and they ordered items i did not even need. In one case they sent 2 drawer fronts when i needed 3, on further inspection there was a drawer and door pack...the door of which was USELESS and not required. When I called them to complain they said the fitter... (read more)

Our SMALL installation took over 2 weeks to complete. We had to stop the installation after four days due to the botched job by the fitter. B&Q sent in another fitter who had to take out most of the kitchen and re-fit it. Several of the doors had to be returned due to blemishes. Overall the project was a nightmare and we have been offered a derisory compansation figure but as the kitchen was paid for up front there is not much we can do. (read more)
