I have had my powakaddy freeway for about 3 years,in this time I have had to replace the wheels, the control unit and now will have to replace the battery for the second time, mine also pulls to the right,I puchased this trolley because powakaddy is supposed to be a quality product, but now discover they buy cheap chinese batteries which don't last,I would never recommend this companies products to anyone. I've had my Freeway for more than 3 years, playing up to 3 rounds per week. In that time, I've replaced 3 batteries, 6 rear wheels and 1 front wheel due to wear and tear. On average the wheels have cost me £28 each. I've never managed to keep the trolley straight (pulls to the right) and I'm advised that I need a new front wheel housing (£40 from my local Powakaddy repair centre). I think that I will buy Motocaddy next time as their spares are much less expensive. (read more)

This is going back! After second weekend of perceiving I've decided it is not fit for purpose. Why....? 1. It's designed to go at either a snails pace or slow jog (where's the walk option?) 2. It's fallen over 3 times since I've owned it. Out course is pretty well maintained, fairly flat and even then it struggles to stay upright! 3. (The last straw) The gears have started to grind It's a shame as I had very high hopes, but having read the rest of these reviews I will not be requesting a... (read more)

I purchased mine in November 2010 due to bad weather first used it properly in March 2011. After 3 rounds the Gearbox failed and was replaced under warranty. The device is very unstable on the slightest slope wants to tip over. The speed control is useless either to fast or to slow. Now to add to it just noted the screen had gone funny took it back in under warranty and they state it is cracked. Yet I was using it when it went and can assure all nothing came into contact with it.Anyway they... (read more)

Bought 2years and 4 months ago - firstly the wheel clips failed and wheels kept falling loose - fixed those myself. Also control screen seems forever misted up, speed contol on setting four could be fast one day and slow the next!!, on/off button failed to engage and trolley heads off on it's own!! And lastly the axles breaks and costs me 65 pounds to repair - Powerkaddy supposedly also paying 65 pound towards repair - so what I'm to be grateful!! You sold me an inferior product through an... My FWII was repaired by Powakaddy in September 11 had new wheels, screen, loose brushes new straps, had upgrade kit, new gearbox. Intermittent fault of failing to start not found. Guess what, the Gremlins are back. Fails to start, loss of screen, partial screen works or full screen flashes constantly, it sometimes works and then cuts out mid stride or looses all data. Taken it to back to point of purchase who are good at trying to resolve the problem. Ended up speaking to Powakaddy... (read more)

Powakaddy Freeway 2 not fit for purpose was my court ruling which is great news for all other PK owners. I did what PK told me to do and took my retailer / PK to court and won a 100% refund plus costs and compo after they wanted a £100 to upgrade to the PK sport which I refused. I had 3 new trolleys, 4 new screens, a new gear box and a broken axle, speed control problems in the time period I had the trolleys. Very disappointed with the performance and service I received, even the Chief... (read more)

I have had the original version of the Freeway for 10 years and recently replaced it with the same model at huge cost of $ 1000. The new model is cheaply constructed and is nearly useless. Webbing is cheap and nasty and the electrical controls don't work properly despite having gone back to the manufacturer/distributor twice. Trying to reduce costs the once industry leader is now sub standard and infrerior to the competitors. I feel cheated and this is the general sentiment at the golf club.... (read more)

Bought 2 in the boom like an eejit! One for me and my wife. Problems all the time with them. Straps broke on first use. Batteries cutting out( don't go over rough ground cos battery will lose connection, screen misting up on both. No repair centre in ireland so if there is any issue takes months to sort out. Overall so disappointed with powakaddy. Thought they were the best on the Market and spending the money would guarantee peace of mind for a long time. Will not be buying powakaddy again (read more)

I'm the silly one who after reading a few bad reviews still went ahead and purchased the very smart looking Freeway II. My first and defiantly last Powerkaddy purchased. Bought the Freeway II in June 2010. During the first couple of rounds it would just go to zero on the speed display and I had to disconnect and reconnect the battery - No great problem and put it down to just a glitch. Then the thing just refused to go one day and the screen displayed "enter password". Went back to a repair centre and got it back about a month later. Still got the zeroing problem. Then the bottom strap broke on the bottom for no apparent reason but I was luckily playing at a... (read more)

Spent around £700 on my freeway2. Faults observed include poor stability on hilly ground, controls difficult to use, starts and stops of it's own accord, screen mists up, refuses to go in a straight line. Battery has performed well over a 2 year period. After repair by local agent decided to call it a day and agent has agreed to sell on my behalf and donate the proceeds to a cancer charity. Hopefully someone will benefit from my misfortune. (read more)

Having been a Powakaddy user for years the Freeway II has been a major let down. I notice that it has been replaced with the "all new" Sport model which looks identical except for the "Sport" decal and teh new handle with two of the old fashioned rotary speed controllers! I purchased a new Freeway II in March 2010 and it has had to be repaied on 3 occasions since then. The first time was an issue with the battery where the connection point plastic split.
The second time was when the wheel shaft snapped half way around the course. And the latest issue where the trolley would only move at one speed SLOW again forcing us to abandon a round.

I bought a Freeway II which is my first electric trolley, and am very disspointed.
The speed control is not very responsive, you set off and if one speed is too slow, when increasing the setting, it takes a long time to kick in and get to speed. speed 4 is too slow, speed 5 is too fast
I've had it for about a year and a half and over the last couple of months, the speed control has decided to change speed on its own, most of the time going up to its highest speed and I can't turn it off... (read more)

We have 2 power caddies. My wife's Freeway bought 2007 is great but my Freeway II bought just 15 months ago is appalling.Same faults as listed from previous customers. Speed 4 too slow and 5 too fast. Not able to read display screen due to misting up. Keeps cutting out and resets to '0' - have to disconnect battery each time to restore supposedly normal functions, have given up using it and resorted to carrying clubs until it is repaired to my satisfaction.

This was my first power trolley and have returned it as not fit for purpose.
Here the good points:
It looks pretty in white.
It folds away neatly.
The battery keeps its charge well.
The digital yard marker is quite useful if you are on the fairway.
..and the bad:
It will tip over backwards if going uphill.
The digital display is hard to read in bright sunlight.
The display mists over with only the slightest hint of rain.
Speed 4 is too slow and speed 5 is too fast; there is nothing in... (read more)

Powakaddy FW II and Deluxe III bag.
First power trolley, don't know what more you could want from a power trolley, easy assembly easy to use. A small amount of effort required to adjust the front wheel to make it run in a straight line (but at least you have the option) Being able to measure the length of your shots is a nice touch and can only help you improve your game. When you are playing in Kampenhout (flat terrain) and your expensive Powakaddy Freeway II breaks down, you may survive pushing it for a few holes. If the same happens in Clervaux, Luxemburg, a very hilly terrain, you better stop playing. Your arms will hurt too much to properly hit a ball.

I can only echo everything said by the other Freeway II reviewers. Buttons, speeds, controls - you name it. I must admit that as yet I have not suffered a broken axle. There definitely appears to be a design fault with the Freeway 11. Bought mine in May 09 and it has had three broken axles within the space of a year! Finally had enough of the repairs and requested and received a full refund from American Golf who were great in dealing with my request promptly!

Another victim of what I understand to be Powakaddy's ousourcing of the manufacture of this trolley to China.
I've had a new axle, a new gearbox and the obligatory misted screen, plus of course the joy of a rediculous start / stop mechniasm and difficulty i finding the right speed (between 4 and 5 is perfect, pity there isn't a 4.5 setting).

I have owned a number of Powakaddy trolleys but the Freeway 11 is rubbish compared to earlier models. The fixed speed settings means you are either pushing the trolley to travel at a reasonable pace or holding the trolley back at the next speed setting. There is a huge step between setting 5 and 6. What on earth are settings 7 to 9 for, golfers who jog around the course? Although the speed control is my main issue, the display fogs up after some rain and the stop/start buton only works...
