i used to eat at the gupshill manor every sunday, until one week there was a hair in my food, but i was told the it was something off of the veg, and then last week i had a finger nail in the middle of my stuffing, but was told that it was a peice of plastic??? i think i know what a finger nail looks like, staff i find very rude and havent got time for you, when you are paying around £70 for 2 adults and 2 children you do expect a better service, but i will not be eating at the gupshill... I have been eating at the Gupshill Manor regularly since the refurbishment and I have to say, every time I go I am impressed yet again.
The food is excellent quality, I have been told that the produce is locally sourced. The atmosphere is relaxed whether you are in the formal restaurant area or sat near the bar on the sofas. The staff are well-informed, attentive but not too over-bearing. I don't believe they have ever been rude to us and as for the comment that they are 'just waiting staff'... (read more)

I went to the Gusphill Manor in Tewkesbury with a group of friends for my birthday. I had a waiter having a go at me about ordering dessert too early (?) and being generally rude. Im not sure if he was trying to be funny but he was not, and it caused an atmosphere. Maybe he should focus on customer service rather than flounching about. When I asked for a glass of wine I was told to 'wait a minute'. The food was fine but when we came to pay we literally could have just walked out. No one gave... (read more)

The goats cheese starter is delicious, I had it two nights running! Fillet steak superb and served with a delicious tomato and balsamic relish. Fantastic green pepper sauce! Visited two nights running whilst on holiday, amazing on the first night but the food was not quite as good on the second. The bread in the starter was slightly burnt and the meal could have been hotter. Service is a little slow, but definately worth another visit! (read more)

The food is good but the staff seem to have an air of snottiness and sometimes you can be left waiting while the staff are faffing about and chatting to each other. Some of the staff are ok - a few of the younger ones are cheerful and chatty but the rest seem to look down their noses at you, for what reason I do not know as they themselves are only waiting staff and there to serve but are not doing it very well! Please remember Gupshill staff you are there to serve me, not make me feel... (read more)

Our first time eating at the Gupsil since its refurb. Overall we had a good evening, in this very popular pub restaurant. The highlights were the goats cheese starter, deserts and the attentive (if not always well informed) staff. The mains were a bit disapointing they sounded great on the menu (Monkfish on Chirizo mash with a garlic cream sauce) but were not well executed. The Monkish smelt fishy when it arrived on our table which suggested it was not as fresh as it could be and the pieces... (read more)

Gupshill Manor, Tewkesbury has a nice interior 5/5! Food was nice , but what was with the "frozen" yorkshire puddings? Our waitress was excellent, very attentive & knowledgeable, unlike her co worker. (read more)

I ate at Gupshill Manor with my friend and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent and so was the food, we would definitely return. I had the fillet steak which was cooked perfectly, I highly recommend it. Make room for dessert as the chocolate brownie was amazing. (read more)

I have only just returned to Gupshill manor 2 years later. Nothing new to report, same surly staff. We were actually told to not to occupy a table that sat 4 as we were a couple...in AN EMPTY PUB!!! Were they expecting a coach party? Fishcake mash potato was "glaggy" sticking to the roof of the mouth. BLue Dragon must be doing a bomb with all the sticky chilli sauce poured into the wraps and the chip fat needs changing! (read more)

We have dined at Gupshill Manor on many occasion and cannot find fault with anything.
The times we have visited have been quite busy and although there was a short wait between courses (of which we were advised) the quality and presentation of the meal was second to none.
My wife particularly likes the home made burger (Pork & Smoked Applewood cheese) served with rustic wedges, onion rings and a relish.
I treated myself to a nice juicy fillet, which i think was reasonably priced at £19.95 and... (read more)

Food at Gupshill Manor is very good (not quite as good as it was when the Gupshill was first re-vamped). It's a stylish place and I think that new customers are quite surprised when they enter - it's much nicer than you might expect of a road-side pub. Service is good.
Great for Sunday lunch - even for those who don't like eating Sunday lunch out. (read more)

The food is fantastic, the service ever so friendly, efficient and really nice for somewhere in the UK to be family orientated, very clean bathrooms even when it was extremely busy.
I would revisit whenever i was in the area which i hope will be soon. Value for money and nothing is too much trouble. A credit to the Management. (read more)

Some staff were busy talking, but cannot blame them as there did not seem to be any manager or senior member of staff to keep an eye on them. When the food did arrive was fairly good but I felt a little overpriced, may return if in the area, and cannot find anywhere else open late afternoon. (read more)

On first look at the menu, I thought it was slightly over priced but after eating there you realise it is definitely value for money.
The service was impeccable so I shall be raving about it to my friends and family.

We have been here twice now and the service on both occasions has been very poor and the food luke warm.we sent 2 out of 4 meals back as the quality was poor. we waited 20 mins for starter plates to be cleared and when we finally got our main course no one even bothered to clear the plates. After 30 mins we got up and paid the bill and went home for desserts. (read more)

Not the first I have eaten here however the service now needs to keep up with the expanded dining room to encourage re-visits, especially on busy weekends.
The last time I visited was for a family birthday and I left impressed. This time I noticed the service was not so inspiring, why so many different people coming to our table - sometimes in error, confused about what we had ordered etc.
Portions could be a bit more generous, not much lamb on my main course and rather too fatty for my... (read more)

Gupshill Manor in Tewkesbury has just had a major renovation. We all know what happens when that happens; prices go up and service goes down! More people are gonna come right? They've heard the hype and they want to see for themselves....and spend their money! WHY do restauranteurs not employ more staff to cover this initial period?
Our experience of the Gupshill has always been super fresh food with an imaginative chef. Now it was surly staff and 2 out of 3 orders incorrect. Quality has... (read more)
