I switched to this provider, Ecotricity electricity and Gasfrom Atlantic earlier this year and so far have not had a great experience. I swapped because i wanted a more environmentally friendly choice and customer service where you are not constantly sales pitched services at every opportunity. Just switched to ecotricity after deciding to switch suppliers. Not the cheapest out there, but no more expensive than previous supplier. I am all in favour of green energy, and can't fault their customer service and helpfulness. very pleasant to speak to a person over the phone instead of an auotmated machine or foreign call centre. Will be with them forever now, but should hopefully cut my bills when I get solar panels next year :-) (read more)

I've been using ecotricity's energy for a number of years and recently switched to their green gas as well. I am really happy with their service, price and simple tarif descriptions. I would defintely recommend them to a friend. (read more)

I switched to Ecotricity two years ago as I liked the concept of supporting new renewable energy directly with a company that is taking action. Their customer service has been excellent, no issues with billing and the switch went smoothly from my previous supplier. I am happy to recommend Ecotricity as they are reasonably priced and you can actually talk to someone easily if you do have an issue. (read more)

They don't offer the cheapest tarrif available, but they invest their profits back into developing new sources of renewable energy and increase the proportion of their energy supplied renewable sources year on year. They send you annual progress reports, so you can see where your money has been spent. Their customer service seems to be pretty good as well. OK, Ecotricity are not the cheapest out there, but they are by no means the most expensive, and you get what you pay for. First off, they have a fantastic customer service. Things do go wrong, particularly (unfortunately) in the energy sector, but my God these guys are superb at getting things sorted, and fast.
Lastly, their profits go to pay for producing more sources of renewable energy, not for fat cat shareholder payouts like with those big boys out there. Ecotricity now sell gas... (read more)

Fantastic - Although I am moving away from Ecotricity, it is only due to the meter that I am on and they cannot support the flexi heat tariff. This was not informed to me when I signed up, so over the past 2 years I paid more than I should have. When the error was noticed they were so helpful and friendly. They even refunded us without any questions. I could not fault their customer support - the best I have ever received. I am sad to leave the company as I agree with their values. They are... Awful experience. They sent random bills with different time periods and tariffs. Impossible to work out what I was supposed to pay. Some days they sent two different bills on the same day. Towards the end they sent several bills with the same total but for different time periods and tariffs. They couldn't seem to see that the exact same amount (to the pence) was too much of a coincidence to be correct.
The bills were much too complicated to work out what was going on.

I found ecotricity to be expensive but didn't mind as I approve of their ethos to promote 'green'energy. However, they really badly messd up my bills amd overcharged me by £200+ overall in a year. I have been unable to get this back. They are hopeless with meter readings and simply cannot grasp the fact that meter readings are 5 not 4 digits! This is why their bills are all over the place. Keep you eye on the estimated readings too!

Generally fine, as they undercut British Gas, but they are a bit inept in terms of customer services. I managed to sign up to them without noticing, I had to give them my direct debit information three times and my meter reading twice. The call centre staff all know what they're doing, but sound hungover at best.

I love Ecotricity. I think it is very good that your bill does not go straight into the chairman's pocket well it does but he uses it to build new wind turbines and wind farms.
Their tariff matched any other price from a UK supplier I have been quoted. (read more)
