This site is under renovation, and the new site does look rather impresive, until then, the petrol station is all that is open. The slip roads do need a lot of work doing to them, however I believe that will be taken care of beofre the new site opens. The staff who were intoday were very friendly and chatty, and to say its a building site, it was a very clean one. Staff were out patrolling with bin bags and litter pickers so I cant fault them really.

IGNORE STAR RATING SHOULD BE A MINUS RATING WEB SITE WILL NOT ALLOW We had the misfortune of stopping off here on Friday 30th April ( query Friday the 13th) it is and absolute disgrace, I have seen cleaner pig sties, please do not use the toilets they are a HEALTH HAZZARD and should have warning signs on the door, in fact the whole place should, I cannot believe that this is allowed in Britain, where are the Health Inspectors when you need them. (I have had to give a star rating to in order to complete this review, it DOES NOT deserve the one star I have had to give it.) My partner and I were unfortunate/misguided/stupid/foolish enough to visit this Hellhole (I am not joking, it really is that bad, another contributor to this site described this place as 'out of a Horror movie' )In short it is not far from partially derelict, its toilets are largely out of order and in a filthy, dangerous state, the ceilings are collapsing and there... “Bolton West Services is without a doubt the worst...”

Bolton West Services is without a doubt the worst service station I have ever been to. From the entry lane which is far to short, through the terrible car park and then in to the centre. Upon entering you are greeted by the damp smell of mould, the ceiling tiles all have brown stains on, the shop was shut at about 6.30pm, the cash point was out of order and the decorations in the toilets are hilarious. The whole place belongs in a terrible sitcom. Only stop if you feel like a laugh. (read more)

Apart from the general air of depression and neglect, the food is appalling and utterly inedible. The car park was a potholed wasteland, the cafeterias empty and depressing. Truly awful. (read more)

Apart from above, this place has a very sinister feel to it, the car park and access roads are potholed and unlit and ones first impression is that it is closed, unfortunately.....it isn't.
Service is no better once inside, surly and diffident staff.

I use Bolton West Services a lot, especially on a trip back from the Pleasure Beach.
Even though the car park is lacking in a decent tarmac level the car park has lots of room.
You have to cross a bridge to get anything on the southbound carriageway.
It's a good stop-gap and that is all. (read more)
