Having just come back from a 5star rated touring caravan site found through England Tourist Board I failed to see how the site got its 5star rating. when we arrived at ladycross plantation in egton near whitby we were greeted by staff who took our payment and then took us to our location which was a very muddy and water logged pitch, so bad that we could not use the awning to sit in. The site had no drainage and i feel that this should be look into by the enjoy england as in the 17years of caravaning this is the worst site we have been on. We came home early from our holiday as you just got mudded up all the time. I certainly would not return to this site again. I have taken photos of the pitch and the boggy mess we were in, I know the weather has been bad but we were in the lake district in July and had rain every day but we had no problems with the site being boggy like this one was. I also do not feel that the site was equipped for the disabled as I thought. Overall my view of this caravan site is very poor.
