This is the second Russell & Hobb toaster we own in quick succession. I though it was a good durable make. Call me old fashion, but my idea of a good kitchen appliance is that it should last AT LEAST 5 years. The toast insertion mechanism in both cases broke just outside the guarantee. Russel & Hobb? Never again

A triumph of style over function. Looks great and toasts OK, when it works! However, it is not well made. We've had two that failed. They can't be dismantled or repaired. Shame.

I bought a Russell Hobbs 10617 Glass Toaster because I was attracted by it's design. At first it worked perfectly well, then after about a year (when the warranty had expired)
the LEDs began flashing, indicating a fault. Switching on and off at the mains would sometimes help. Then the pop-up lifting bar under the bread came loose at one end. I managed to semi-fix this, but today the toast didn't pop up.
IT JUST KEPT TOASTING AND TOASTING AND COULD HAVE SET THE HOUSE ON FIRE HAD I NOT BEEN WATCHING.
Don't buy one, because it cannot be dismantled or repaired when it goes wrong, which it will, as evidenced by the other comments on this site. Recycling Centre tomorrow. Then I'm going to buy a toaster that can be repaired if necessary.
