This seat is awful. Leans back too far (so my child was constantly straining his neck to sit forward) and the clasps just stopped working after 6 months making it totally unsafe too. Total waste of money! (read more)

I have had four of these car seats - two per car. Each has lasted from birth until my children were just under 4. You do need to read and understand the instructions to change the harness settings but once I had done it twice I found it really easy to do. Washing the covers has been simple enough and I have had no problems putting them back on. I went on to sell all four of the car seats (having never been in an accident) in very good condition. This car seat is the bane of my life : awkward and difficult. After several months of trying to sqeeze my baby into it and miserably failing to adjust the straps I have thrown it out. It is the worst and most shoddy item that I have bought in my whole life. Do NOT buy it.

I totally disagree with this review. I have had one of these car seats for my grandaughter for the past 3 years. I am an old age pensioner who suffers with arthris in my hands and I managed with no trouble at all to get my grandaughter in and out of the car loads of times. Change the seat belt when she got bigger and take the seat in and out of the car. Would suggest she wrote this review on a bad day!

We bought the Britax Eclipse for our grandaughter. It is very comfortable for her and easy to adjust. However the base unit is badly designed and cuts into the leather upholstery of our car seat - we have had to put padding underneath to protect the seat. Also when she is not in the seat, it rattles dreadfully and we have had to put a strap around the whole thing to cut down the very annoying noise. So very mixed feelings about this car seat, but would not have bought it had we known... (read more)

I will always have Britax car seats. Easy to install and clean. don't make the mistake I made by taking all the straps off to clean; it's not necessary and can be tricky to put back together. (read more)

I love the Britax Eclipse SI car seat. I searched high and low, read various reviews but this one was by far the best.
I moved my daughter into this seat from a rear facing one at 9mths as she has long legs and suffered car sickness. The day I did this marked a considerable change in our car journeys. My daughter loves travelling now. The seat is well padded and has an excellent recline on it. When she's sleeping I can recline the seat with ease from the driver's seat and she looks so...

I have now owned the Britax Eclipse SI for over two years and it has grown with my daughter's needs and size. I first bought the car seat when she reached 1 but it is suitable for younger babies and she is fast approaching four now, with still more scope for her growing with it.
What I like is that it blends into the car, it is easy to use and more importantly very easy to fit, which comes in handy when swapping cars or removing for cleaning.

Ive find the eclipse si brilliant. i dont drive so i have to take it in and out of friends cars nearly every day then in my partners on a weekend, i was dreading having to do this but its so easy to do and light. my 7 month old daughter loves it and even enjoyed traveling 300miles in it! The Britax Eclipse SI car seat is an amazing buy. We were in an accident where a car went into our car and we went into another car. All the pasangers had whiplash my partner hit the windscrean, the car was a writeoff but my son who was in this car seat he was fine. He's only 7 months but his weight means he's big enough to go in the seat. The car seat didn't move during the accident. He cried for a few seconds out of shock and then he was none of the wiser. We bought the Britax Eclipse SI car seat for our son at about 9 months and have never looked back. We bought it from Mothercare for £100 which is quite pricey but we knew it was the one we wanted and it should hopefully last a few years, it's very good quality. It has a 5 point harness which keeps him safe and it's so easy to fit into our car. Britax Eclipse SI - When our daughter was little I knew that we would have to buy a forward facing car seat and that we would need to investigate which one we wanted.
I knew I wanted a Britax one and the two which we narrowed it down to were the Renaissance and the Eclipse. Both were quite similar and were the 2 top ones it seemed in the Britax range.

What an odd review! The seat has a button under the front allowing you to recline it for when baby wants to sleep, or move it to upright so they can look around more. this reviewer obviously didn't read the instructions!
