I have had the Tomy Walkabout Premier Digital Monitor for nearly 6 years and had no problems at all. The battery in the parents unit has only just started to run out. I would definitely recommend this product.

What's the point of a monitor that does'nt allow you to monitor your baby due to the amount of interference coming through the parent unit we even tried the Tomy Walkabout with all the electrical appliances in the house turned off with no success on all four channels...useless! Don't waste your money we returned it to the shop for a full refund after 24 hrs.

I get a battery light on the baby unit of my Tomy Walkabout now which has never had batteries and has always run off the mains. Adding batteries doesn't help. Seems to be some interference and the talk function doesn't seem consistent. Really disappointing after only a couple of months of use

Was given the Tomy Walkabout Premier Digital Monitor as a present and have found it disappointing. did not need to use it for the first few months and was unable to return it otherwise I would have.
my monitor seems to cut out after 30 seconds to a minute of continuous sound and sometimes does not even pick up when the baby stirs. has not on several occasions picked up on the phone ringing or even me talking. you can imagine that this is no good when I am trying to monitor my child when I first ...

DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON The Tomy Walkabout Premier Advance, it has caused me more sleepless nights that the baby! The interference is so intense, it sounds like a hundred angry moths trying to get out of a paper bag! By the time you can vaguely recognise your baby's murmurs beyond this, it's too late to resume her sleep. It is supposed to have a 200m range, but cuts out as soon as I enter the conservatory (and I live in a small house!). It's supposed to have different channels, which just seem ...

I found the monitor generally very good. However you cannot by the batteries in Australia. You can purchase them only from the UK at a total cost of almost $40. The battery died in our monitor after only a year.
The temperature seems to read higher due (I think) to the monitor being close to the wall and feeling the warm of the wall.

I paid £20 for my first baby monitor by Tomy and it was no good, I couldn't hear my baby clearly and there was too much interference. So I bought the Tomy walkabout for £39.99 and within a few months we had the same problem. I'll be going for a different brand next time.

Only in use for a year - and the rechargeable battery only works for about 2 - 3 hours. Can you buy replacements??

We have had the monitor for 2 years, and have found it to be fantastic. We have it on level 2 out of 10, which is easily enough to hear our daughter crying. We haven't found any problems with reception, and we take the Tomy Walkabout Premier Digital monitor outside in the summer, and it's great.
I felt I needed to balance out all the bad reports that seem to be here.

The interference you get on the Tomy Walkabout Premier Digital baby monitor is often so bad you cannot hear your baby cry. I found it difficult to pick up a channel which didn't pick up every other baby monitor on the street. The clarity is also poor; even on its highest setting I could hear my baby cry louder in the next room than I could on the monitor.

The Tomy Walkabout Premier Digital monitor itself looks nice, the night light is good for seeing the temp in the dark but little else. It's always beeping for one reason or another and it gets very annoying. there is a lot of interference which can get quite loud- so you can't get to sleep even if baby is! It lasted 6 months but the dial on parent unit broke and now we can't turn it on. However, the price is ok and light response is very good.

Tomy Walkabout Premier Digital Monitor sounds great in the ads, but in reality the interference is so bad you cannot hear the baby cry although the light display is helpful. The range is not 50m indoors but I found it to be 3 metres indoors and only if on the same floor as the baby base unit. Even directly underneath there is no signal. When the signal is lost an alarm sounds on the parent unit which wakes the baby each time!

The light display on the Tomy Walkabout Premier Digital Monitor is good and means you can have the sound low but still know when your baby is crying. There seems to be quite a lot of interference and the range of the monitor is not always good. The temperature reading always seems to be too high.
