The Umarex Sig 225 (Reck Police) is an excellent air pistol that I would recommend to anyone. I bought my first air pistol (Walther CP88) about 4 months ago and was delighted at not only the realism of the gun, but its powerful punch when it came to target shooting. Try as a might though I could not find the Sig 225 available anywhere in the UK, so on a recent trip to Paris I located 'Eurosurplus '(Metro Republique) which is by far one of the best stocked shops I have ever been to, specialising in all manner of BB, airpistols, Blank-firing copies, holsters, blades of all description etc etc.
I bought the Reck Police, and an Umarex drop leg holster for around 180 Euros. I was not disappointed. The Gun is excellent, and even before shooting it, the heft of its frame, the realism of its detailing, including the hammer stop, and a perfect, flex-free trigger, all pointed to me having made the right decision in buying it.
As far as the mechanism, it is classic Umarex, almost identical to the CP88, with the CO2 bulb slotting into the right hand side of the grip, which pops off when one presses the magazine release. The 'snap-shut 'that protrudes from the bottom of the butt (as with the CPO88) means one can prepare the gun in advance, snapping down the butt-base to pierce the bulb and have the gun ready to fire (thus avoiding valve issues related to keeping bulbs in place for too long)
Though the barrel seems on the short side it is the same 4 inches as the CP88. An added bonus is the removable front and back sight leading me to believe that they can be swapped up for a better set. The rear sight is adjustable for windage using a fine allen key (sadly not provided) but it ' s a cinch to get the gun shooting right for you.
As with (sadly) the majority of air pistols the Reck police is DAO, however I have found that when using this pistol for practice shooting, I thumb back the hammer after each shot to give a crisp sinle action release. I also find that having to thumb the hammer each time replicates the 'off aim 'recoil of a real pistol, and avoids me rapid shooting (which with CO2 does nothing for one ' s accuracy). I can ' t speak to CO2 consumption as I always replace after 6-8 barillets.
Most pellets I have put through the gun run smoothly. The heft and feel of a real pistol, that with a decent backstop allows me to shoot at home, together with a holster allows me to practice quick draws and other drills to get to a decent level of accuracy before engaging in the real thing (TSV in France)
Well done Umarex for another faithfully reproduced, and well engineered piece of kit, my CP88 must be getting jealous at the lack of attention.

Nice item, nice weight, fits good in the hand, the only negative point is that it has an 8 shot magazine. I wish the magazine capacity was bigger. I am getting really good accuracy with the Umarex Reck Police CO2 pistol.
The only bad point I can find is the detachable front and rear sight (I lost mine once, fortunately the store I bought it from gave me a new one)- Read Guest's review (72 words)

Having read everyone else's glowing reports I decided to purchase one of these for myself. Other pistols I already own include a Rohm Twinmaster Trainer, Umarex Beretta 92 and Walther CP99 Compact.
On the plus side it certainly looks & feels very realistic with a nice amount of "heft". It also replicates the safety features of the real one, with a working de-cocking lever and safety position for the hammer. Although the action was a bit sticky/stiff to begin with, it has become much smoot ...- Read The Virginian's review (408 words)

I borrowed one of my mate, along with a Colt 1911, and cp88
The weight is perfect for me and allows me to keep the pistol pointed at the target for a long time without getting a ache arm.
Very powerful
Very authentic, and looks like the real thing
I would definitely recommend it
Fits perfect in my hand

I brought a Umarex Reck Police (Sig225) at an airgun shop in Auckland of NZ. It was not cheap and it was $455 NZ. However, I got what I paid for. It is a very good quality gun which was manufactured in Germany, unlike most CP99 pellet guns made by Umarex Crosman group in the USA. Reck Police (Sig225) is a four inch gun as same as CP88 but it more powerful than CP88. Why? Because it has a special German made valve. If you have both CP88 and Reck Police (Sig225), you will know the valves of bo ...- Read kiwishooter's review (115 words and 4 comments)

A few month ago, I've bought an Umarex Reck Police 4" barrel, I enjoyed it very much.
A week ago I've bought on the net an update 6" barrel and a micrometric rear sight. This increased the accurancy of the gun and the speed at the end of the barrel 130m/s.- Read Vincent 70's review (50 words)

Aside from the one negative point, the Umarex Reck Police (Sig225) is an awesome pistol. Fps and overall shooting is just as enjoyable from the first shot to the last. The nickel finish is also complementing and it's upped my standards considerably. All this talk has made me a bit trigger itchy. Gonna pop off a few shots now. BUY THIS PISTOL!! If you can find it that is. It took me a while to find the one I have but yes..good luck on that- Read cs31's review (102 words)

I purchase the Umarex Reck Police a few months ago and I am still thrilled with it! I specially ordered it in a Nickel finish with black grips for authenticity and its truly the holy grail of my collection. Smooth, heavy, detailed, powerful, accurate, it has it all! If you are going to get one of these, you should seriously spread the extra cost and get a nickel finish, you will not be disappointed! You simply cannot imagine the quality until you see it in real life, pick it up and feel it!- Read Ironsight's review (97 words)

The Umarex Reck Police is an amazing co2 pistol, no jams, co2 system is safe for the co2 seal, short barrel make the gun not very precise at all. But, it's so fun to shoot, you really have the feeling that you hold a real one, and when you have lot of clip. It's very easy and rapid to load so, you can shoot and shoot. I've just got mine from about two months now and shoot about 1000 shot and, what I love about this gun is, sure it's the look and the feel but, I can shoot about more then 50 shot ...- Read beback's review (280 words)
