    Good Points: Design is "clean" - consistent, ergonomic form/function. Flawless operation is flawless, and relatively quiet.
    High quality.


    Bad Points: Auto backspace - slightly sluggish due to precision (user definable).

    Non-standard earphone plugs. ($20 to standardize)

    High cost.


    General comments: Dictaphone 2740 review - If one were to purchase one machine because one required a cassette, high performance, low-maintenance transcriber machine, this is hands-down in the "best of breed" category, if not "the" best.

    Caveat: Make certain you obtain maintenance history (Dictaphone keep repair history inside the machine on a tiny card, and in their computer systems.)
