    Good Points: Quality build. Professional grade equipment


    Bad Points: Doesn't come with DVD drive as standard


    General comments: The next generation of one of HP's bedrock Proliant DL380 server range. This model gives space for 8 SAS drives 2 processors and has all the usual items you have come to expect such as redundant fans (Standard feature on the G5) Optional redundant PSU an Integrated Lights Out and on board Array controller. New for the G5 is a handy fault indication panel on the front that lights up to indicate where the fault is if you get one. Also the addition of a front VGA port if you have a high density of servers in a rack and don't use KVM.Smartstart got my G5 up and running in no time. A solid piece of kit.
