Good Points: Mechnically reasonably well designed.

Bad Points: User interface is absolutely shocking.

General comments: The user interface on this office multi-function device is so poor as to make the device almost unusable even in an office three to four people.

The current device status for operations (i.e., fax, scan, copy, etc.) are poorly displayed, if at all. Selecting options for operations is clumsy, error prone, and requires more user input than necessary (phone number entry is a simple example). The next step in a process is often unclear, despite the fact that other actions will cancel the operation. The colour display is small (or the fonts too big) and poorly utilised; any colour icons are almost unrecognisable. This makes one wonder if a larger monochrome screen would have been a better choice.

However, the most egregious omission is in concurrent processing and fax memory. Every operation blocks the UI, including fax reception and transmission, meaning if a fax number is busy no other work can take place. Even in scan and fax mode, where the fax is scanned and then stored for later transmission, the UI is blocked. Similarly, the UI is blocked if a received fax is in memory.

In summary, HP Officejet Pro L7780 is useless unless you enjoy standing around waiting for your documents.

Everything about the HP Officejet Pro L7780 is bad. I have always purchased HP printers and always had a good experience. This is the first time that I can honestly say. "I wish I had bought a different printer". This is a DOG
    Keeps losing comms
Tech support now into tens of hours. Still not resolved
    Waste of time.
J6400 is a good machine DO NOT BUY is the best I can tell anyone

I have read good and bad comments about the L7780. I think mine might be a lemon. Had much better service from my old 1170cse.Used that one for almost ten years and the wife did lots of printing for her scrap booking with it. when it works well, I love it, just pay no attention to all the bumping and grinding it does.

I bought 2 of these printers and neither will do what it says on the box. The cost of the calls to tech support alone are now over £55. Save time and money and look elsewhere.

A review of Hewlett Packard Officejet Pro L7780 Printer - All in all, if you want a reliable printer that will not fail you, decent tech support, and quality build, or maybe even just one of the above DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.
Tech support (which will be needed often with this printer).
    wireless is unreliable
scanner doesn't always pick up from the feeder.
    bulky software.
    very noisy.
