There is one place for this pc - in the bin.
Why did they sell it with Vista installed? The machine is gutless. Upgrading the ram is full of pitfalls and I'm not going to attempt it.
I really hope mine has a fatal error soon so I am forced to buy, or better build, a new pc.
The only thing that Acer can make is monitors.

The Acer Aspire T180 system was very sluggish and had problems opening word and excel, took a very long time to launch these programs.
When I tried to request a recovery CD from customer support it became a lesson in the ultimate frustration. I got referred back and forth between their website and call center. Each referring me to the other.
So no recovery disc poor performing system. I feel like I was robbed. Price made me take the risk on this system but to anyone out there looking for ch ...- Read cscott's review (102 words)

I think this Acer Aspire T180 PC Desktop pc is great. I put 2 gig extra ram in to it and it run games media player and other programs without any problems .. i do intend to put yet another 1 gig ram in it (coz it can take it) and get myself a decent graffix card ... but overall this is a great and decent priced pc.- Read Scoob00's review (64 words)

A solid, reliable machine. I've had no problems with it for over 2 years so I'm quite happy with it. Although the graphics card which it has to start with is kind of old, and isn't really up to the standard of modern pc gaming. Overall a great machine, worth the money, and a free upgrade to vista.- Read nonstopjc's review (70 words)

Im going to upgrade mine to a nvidia ge force 9500gt, comes with 1 gb ram, also 570 watt power pack, and ddr ram to 2 gb ram, total cost is £140.00, Ive upgraded to windows vista at no extra cost, and my system runs great, im really into digital photography and have a 22" wide screen acer 223w screen and these mods will make a great difference, ive weighed up the pros and cons of getting a new system. with this spec its to much to buy new again... so an upgrade is on the xmas list.
Good d ...- Read lister22's review (167 words)

In case of reliability and service I recommend - don't buy this machine. After paying a lot of money and waiting a lot of time you get recovery cd's which don't work. The support service tell's you, you should try partitioning first with a win98 cd (maybe) or with any another boot-floppy (there's no floppy drive integrated).
And the video-drivers on the acer-website for this pc also dont work.- Read Guest's review (117 words)

I bought the basic machine a couple years ago:
512MB DDR2 RAM
80GB HDD
AMD Sempron 3200+ processor
you know the rest
Anyway, I installed a proper graphics card first, as long as you make sure the games you buy don't require a processor higher than 1.8GHz, you're fine, although I do have a couple of games that require 2.0GHz but seem ok.
Also I bought 2x 1GB memory (which I installed alongside the original 512MB) this drastically improves the computer's performance and I highly recommend it, t ...- Read Guest's review (256 words)

Bought as a cheap-n-cheerful upgrade to an older machine, and for the purpose of at least familiarising myself with Vista (although I haven't used Windows for more than five years now, but I need to keep my MS skillset reasonably up-to-date!)For the money, it's quite a good machine - I've been perfectly happy so far.- Read Guest's review (127 words)

Unhelpful, reliability I thought was poor, hard drive failed after a couple of months, just long enough to have loads of data to lose!
Acer couldn't have been less helpful in getting it repaired if they'd tried. The worst customer service I've experienced in many many years.- Read kpg's review (57 words)

I got what I payed for. I have found the T 180 to be reliable and relatively trouble free. Most of the problems being related to the operating system and drivers. By regularly performing maintenance tasks on the computer I have found it reliable and forgiving of my sometimes heavy hand. Having owned an HP before this is cheaper, better and recommended.- Read Guest's review (68 words)

Keep locking up and Acer very very unhelpful in producing a recovery disk in my experience. I do not recommend Acer Aspire computer systems due to my experience, as I can not think of one positive thing to say about Acer.- Read simmmo's review (41 words)

I've found the performance of the Acer T180 to be very poor. In addition, I've had numerous problems with the system locking up when it goes into power saving mode. The sequence to restore the system to an active state is unreliable. Disabling power saving mode appears to have improved the reliability of my system.- Read bsmith1180's review (59 words)

I find the general performance and reliability of the Acer Aspire T180 PC Desktop very disappointing indeed! If only I could have afforded to spend a little more, I would much rather have purchased a Hewlett Packard, a Packard Bell or even a Futjitsu Siemens PC. I would not recommend this Acer Aspire T180 to my worse enemy let alone to any of my friends!- Read UKnightowl's review (468 words)
