I`ve had this unit about 3 years now. Overall satisfied with it. One gripe is that when I turn it on (bus power) the computer doesn`t see it and I need to switch it off and back on again. This happens about 20% of the time.
But generally its good. The preamp seems a little on the weak side and I am now looking to get a dedicated preamp as I up grade to better mics etc. (read more)

I disagree with "inverlass" review, who commented earlier. The 48V switch is not for "older mics" as he mentioned but for condenser mics, which in order to work, need to be supplied with phantom power. Also, if he truly was a producer, as he say he is, he'd know what that switch is for.

I'm using this Edirol FA-66 sound card over 2 years & mostly satisfied with this device. Very good sound card for composers. Great Sound Card For Money. Durable, Stable & Excellent Sound Quality. Combo Jacks For Any kind of inputs. Direct Monitoring. Digital in-out. 192 khz. Bad points were driver Problem with windows vista 32 bit, Even you use TI based Firewire. Problem is same with the Latest 1.05 Driver. For XP it works like a charm. Preamp quality is not up to the mark. (read more)

Why buy this card? If you only need stereo recordings then its very good value. Why not to buy this card? I'm a professional producer and this has very limited effects and tends to be on the cheep side, both in money and what it can achieve in my opinion. (read more)
