“Its all good, its the most powerful entry level card...”

Its all good, its the most powerful entry level card that Nvidia have ever introduced in its lifetime.
Price is comparably nothing the card is giving you. I have played possibly every game with it like Battlefield 2142, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Need For Speed Carbon, Collin McRae DIRT, Scarface, Grand Theft Auto S.A., Half Life2 Episode 1 and 2, Doom3, FEAR, COLD FEAR, Hitman Blood Money, Juiced 1 and 2, Midtown Madness 2, Need For Speed Most Wanted, Spider Man 3, Test Drive Unlimited, Driver 4 Parallel Lanes and many other high end games. There is no stopping this card. 8500 GT has 256 MB of DDR2 128 bit VRAM with shader 4.0 and Direct X 10 support. Because its a direct X 10 card, it has no trouble with running games in VISTA or XP. The card performs exceptionally great. Its a low level or entry level card. But Nvidia made sure that even with these you become a good Nvidia Fan. Nvidia keeps you satisfied with newer optimized drivers and such a good card. The SLI is missing and this card cannot outperform a 7300 GT with DDR 3 VRAM

Graphics is sparkling in FAR CRY and DOOM 3.
The card is way above 7600 GT, 7300 GT or ATI x1650 Pro,XT.
This entry level card matches the performance of previous generation top mid range cards.
Compared to previous levels of entry level cards such as 6200 TC, 6600, 7100, 7200, 7300, this card is the best. With $140 to $160 this card is the best, the price will even drop lower as ATI unveils their entry segment cards. ATI will cost twice this card. Anyway, buying this card is no mistake, great for a casual gamer.

Many might say the 8500 GT is nothing compared to 8600 Gt or newer models..... There is something called comparison and there is something called reality...

I lessened to this guy , got me a 8500 gt I kept the settings at 1024x768 and guess what? Set the performance of D3D settings to very fast. instead of quality....and put 2x and 4x anti- aliasing...
Most games were playable, from NFS Pro street to Call of Duty Modern Warfare to Gears of War, To counterstrike Source to Crisis to any game, at considerably well frame rates.. Game settings had to be balanced to check for optimal performance/quality for each game...
I made a low cost gaming PC with a Pentium Dual Core and 4 GB ram and this Graphics card and gave it to my sister for her Birthday...
