Fantastic machine. I've got three of them. 1 for work, used every week day on several houses/flats. 1 for home and 1 spare. Who else gives you a 5 year guarantee as standard? Tip - Don't touch Dyson with a barge pole. Dyson is Utter Utter Utter Utter Utter Rubbish!!!!!!!

Had one of these over 20 years ago. Since had a Dyson and a horrible Morphy Richards cleaner which I could stand no longer. The Sebo is superb in comparison. It is so easy to use, not heavy, it glides along the floor & automatically adjusts to different floors. It also has a wand which you just pull out to go into the corners or suck up cobwebs. It is excellent at cleaning edges. I am now able to vacuum my stairs again (my husband had to do them with the old cleaner). Although expensive its worth every penny.

We have owned the Sebo X4 extra for about 10 years. It's bullet proof. We went thought the usual fusion phase but due to them being very big, heavy and tiny dust storage we decided to upgrade. Mum had an older model and swore by it. We feel this vacuum cleaner is the same quality as all our Miele appliances. Well built an very durable. Parts are cheap enough and we never loose suction even when the bag is rammed full. It can fall over but you can easily get round this by positioning the cleaner against a wall or the stairs or as we do sometimes just lay it flat on the floor whilst using the extension hose. One very cleaver design feature is the ability to drop the whole cleaner in to a flat position so getting under beds and sofas is a doddle. It is very powerful and you can even see the carpet being lifted as it passes over it. We have a large house with three children a dog and a cat coupled with hard wood floors and fitted carpet as well as some stone and the automatic levelling system handles everything really well. If this went wrong we wouldn't think twice... We'd go and buy another!!!

We have holiday cottages and the cleanliness of them is very important,we allow dogs but also cater for families with small children,so have to remove all traces of hair, which the Sebo does with ease. The hose is great for getting right into awkward edges but the vac does a good job of this anyway, and it doesnt take two seconds to fit back into the body of the machine. The vacuum is so slim it is easy to clean under the beds,it isnt bagless but the bags last for quite a while and are easy to replace. I first came across the Sebo where I worked and was impressed at the build quality, you can tell it is good quality,it is on the heavy side if you need to carry it,not flimsy and light, but glides easily when pushed, it even raises or lowers itself to suit the pile depth of the carpet. After using this machine in one cottage for 5yrs the carpets are still in fantastic condition, there are no crushed pile tracks at high traffic areas and other than spot treating occasionally I have never had to shampoo them. There are two downsides to the machine for my particular situation,it is not as good as my Miele cylinder at vacuuming the solid wood and tiled kitchen floor, and if your rushing it is easy to vac over the cord and the powerful roller with its brushes can damage the cable if not careful. (however this was my fault!)

After reading reviews I chose the SEBO X4 and have never looked back. My only gripe after so many years use was that I had to change roller and filters also clean the hose because after so many years use it smelled a bit. A little tip, drop some essental oil on the charcoal filter and a nice smell circulates when you are vacuuming.

The only thing I would say against my sebo is that if you use the hose leading away from the back it can fall over if you over stretch it, that said, if you use if fro the front it will just roll towards you (surface permitting). Other than that I have absolutely nothing to say against these machines. Our first one lasted over 10 years before it died, we could have had it repaired but they (Sebo) had an ex-display machine that they offered at a reduced price (but with the same full warranty) and we decided to go for that and kept our old machine for spares. 5 or so years later and suction is still the same. Love it.

Have had the same Sebo vacuum cleaner for almost 17yrs! Whilst others were buying a Dyson i went for a Sebo which was a similar price. Durng the first year i had a problem and they came out and fixed NO CHARGE! Have not noticed any lack of suction even as it has got older. This is a great vacuum cleaner for both carpets and hard floors as it automatically adjusts. So value for money, definitely. Would i buy another one? Don't need to!!

I asked for this for Xmas and have never before had an upper quality vacum so I am just blown away. The suction power! The sleekness! Light, low and thin. Compressed vacum dirt? With the Hoover, that bagless container would have had to been washed 2 or 3 times already. Long nice cord. The hose is fast to access. Easy to push, no cloud of dust ever, lots of cleaning. Yes! Yes!

I've had x3 Dyson's all over the tip wall after a few years and this baby outperforms from the gate! Firstly it clears dust right in the corners from the excellent suctions and on carpet with it's "unique self-levelling" simply wins hands-down - it is a much-better cleaner than the Dyson. It looks boaring but once you've used you'll see the diference, quality and never go away from this model. Some folks rightly winge about it falling over when you use the flexible pipe. Yes - it does but it's still useable and doesn't take-away this cleaners no.1 ranking. FYI: it has a bag but the dirt compression is high-tech and bag-change really isn't an issue. For anyone looking for the best cleaner- I'e used the lot and would strongly recommend this one!

We rate it as 5.0 out of 5.0. We have had our Sebo X4 upright vaccum cleaner for over 10 years, purchased in John Lewis, had to buy dusting brush separately as this became a standard feature after we purchased ours. Really reliable and easy to use. I have the extending hose which means I can clean the stairs without the likelihood of the machine falling over. My parents purchased one after borrowing ours and they have had theirs for 7 years. My sister-in-law has a Sebo X1 - its 12 years old and going strong. You have to remember to service them regularly and hide them from the builders etc (we regularly found ours had been used for collection of their rubbish and resorted to taking it with us when we went out....).

Get a pro model vac . Sebo g1 is what we bought. quiet enough for hospital use. hepa filter. you dont see dysons ,ect in commercial applications and there is a reason for that.they dont cut it.
we tried out the lot and if you stand behind one of those barefoot , you will feel the dirt ,ect, hit your toes .nuf said.
also check out youtube. very helpful. the vast majority of vacuums on the market fail the 'toe test' and airtight pickup chamber area. dust distributors really. Ask a house keeper/janitor in a hotel what they use.the standard would be 16 hours continuous use with coffee breaks and lunch off duty.

The Sebo X4 Automatic is a very capable cleaner. It looks a little old fashioned but does its job very well indeed. The carpets look good when they are finished and when we look after our daughters two German Shepards it deals with the hair and rubbish very easily. The cleaner works well on all types of surface, we have carpets, tiles and wood and have found no problems. At first it seems a little on the clumsy side and may be a bit heavy for some to carry upstairs. I manage OK and I am 70 next birthday! It really comes into its own as soon as you switch on and somehow seems to loose its weight - in other words it works really well. The machine can appear a little unstable with its long hose attached when cleaning stairs for example but I find that putting the machine next to the bottom step cures this. Similarly when using it to to dust window sills etc. just don't overstretch the hose and the machine should be OK. It comes with a long flex and I haven't found it necessary to use any extension leads. I can't comment on service and support from Sebo as I haven't needed any other than buying replacement bags and similar consumables from local dealers. Overall a good machine that does its job very efficiently.

My Sebo x4 extra arrived today, I have to admit I had never heard of this brand before it was recommended by a friend. Extremely pleased with it already, carpets look great & it brings the pile up so well, this cleaner is raring to go! We have a dog & a cat & the Sebo picks up the hairs effortlessly. As other reviewers have mentioned it does become a little unstable using the hose but this is overcome by placing cleaner next to a wall. Much better than my old Dyson & well worth the money, just wish I'd discovered Sebo years ago.

excellent does what you want, good suction very realiable, problem is my son has borrowed it and does not want to part with it. I want it back.
Bags are large and easy to change and dispose of. Goes under your furniture easily when hoovering. Does not leave that dusty taste in the air.

I have had my Sebo for 15 years now and it is fantastic - parts easy to replace and it just keeps on going. Am now treating myself to a new one as we are just re carpeting the whole house!
It is true that it does fall down when you use the hose - but once you get the knack of it - that is no problem. I love it as it virtually drags you along whilst using it!

Bought the K1 because it had been recommended by a dog-owning friend. It is lighter than my previous vacuum (Dyson) and much easier to carry up and down stairs(I had breast cancer surgery 6 years ago which left me with a weakened right arm). I board Guide Dogs and shifting labrador hairs was impossible until I purchased my K1, wouldn't have anything else now. A pack of 8 bags lasts nearly a year so I wouldn't say it was expensive to run, especially if you shop around. Brilliant machine.

Sebo X4 excellent.
After 2 Dysons, we had to change. We spent a couple of years in Germany and SEBO is very popular there. It has mostly commercial use in the UK in the past, and therefore should be solid and reliable.
We were impressed with the Sebo X4 when it arrived. Now a year later, we are still impressed.
Pros:
The bag lasts ages. Minimum 2 months in our house even with daily use. Thats 4 beds, 2 kids, a dog and cat. And it sucks strongly to the last minute...and its dead easy and clean to change the bag.
Long mains flex.
Long staircase hose.
Easy to use accessories. The 'gun' is especially well designed and quick.
None of the accessories have broken, split, or dropped off.
It is low profile, and so easily gets under chairs and tables.
Its light and manouverable. No you DONT need a gimicky ball.
And ofcourse it is quiet and cleans efficiently and effectively. Everything.
Cons:
I think subjectively that the suction is a little less than a new Dyson. But it sucks up everything easily, and the suction does NOT diminish at all. The suction on BOTH our Dysons was less when the dust compartment was only 1/4 full, despite the manufacturers claims.
Stability. When using the long hose, you need to turn the machine 90' (ie sideways), otherwise the upright will topple over. It is irritating at first, but a small price to pay for a light and agile machine.
Dont hesitate, pay the extra and get a really good machine. Consider it a small investment.
And NO, I do NOT work for SEBO in any way.

Fantastic vacuum cleaner which I can't recommend highly enough. The suction is very powerful, and it picks up all pet hairs on first pass.
I considered the new Miele upright ( a Which Best Buy) prior to buying this, and went to the Miele dealers to try it. It weighed a ton, and just pushing it about was exhausting so I went for the Sebo instead. I am so glad I did! It is very light, but the build quality is excellent and I like the minimalist design. Replacing the bag is easy, the whole thing comes apart in case of blockages, and the filter seems very efficient with no ambient dust in the room after cleaning, and no vacuum smell. My only complaint is that that the machine tends to fall over when the on board hose is used - not a huge problem but worth a mention. This is a minor cavil, however, and with a five year guarantee and an online price of about £240, I think that the Sebo x4 Pet represents very good value for money.

Had the X4 for more than a couple of years now. Can't fault it in any way. It's not cheap but quality products rarely are. Look in your local vac repair shop and I doubt you'll see a Sebo as the scene is dominated by yellow and grey machines.
Pay the money and buy quality but in paying the money try Redsale first.

We have had this Sebo x4 for 2 years now and it is such a tremendous cleaner it is the best upright vacuum cleaner we have ever owned. We had the dyson dc01 back in the 90s it was a great cleaner for its time but this one is better.
I think it came with the extra long stair hose and the duop clean box, we also purchased the hand tubined brush for the stairs which works really well.
Like i said we have had it for 2 years and we have only had to buy a second box of paper bags witch is really good and gives you an idea of how much they hold.
The computer controlled height adjustment is a work of art.
You don't have to mess about with height settings.
We hope the sebo will continue to perform the same as the day we bought it .
