Orange SPV M5000
18 Oct 2005

Summary
Bursting with features, but also bulky, and the keyboard is good but not perfect

Pros
Slick swivel-screen system ; easy-to-use video calling ; non-volatile memory ; Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

Cons
Keyboard is too small for fast typing ; comparatively heavy and large ; processor sometimes doesn't keep up with demands made on it

Dopod 900
22 Nov 2005

Summary
It can do pretty much everything you can expect of a PDA-phone hybrid and more, but while it excels as a top-of-the-line PDA, its phone functions leave room for improvement.

Pros
One of the first 3G-capable PDA-phones ; rock-solid build quality ; superb display and keyboard ; packed with connectivity, multimedia features and Windows Mobile 5.0 ; fast processor

Cons
Bulky and heavy ; sub-par camera quality ; poor phone implementation ; pricey

T-Mobile MDA Pro
18 Nov 2005

Summary
If you work on the move, the MDA Pro could well be a substitute for your notebook PC....

Pros
Usability ; plenty of features

Cons
Bulky ; weak hinge on screen

Verdict
The most sophisticated handheld around

T-Mobile MDA Pro

Summary
The smartphone that tries to please all of the people, all of the time.

Verdict
The MDA is neither a powerful PDA nor a useable phone.

i-mate JasJar
17 Mar 2006

Pros
Every feature you could want. Native Wi-Fi, 3G compatible, swivel screen

Cons
Large, bulky and heavy, processor too slow, poor battery life

Verdict
The mother of all smartphones, this monster has a large price tag to match its large dimensions

4 stars
O2 Xda Atom Exec
8 Aug 2006

Pros
Compact design, Push email, Speed and performance improvements, Media application

Cons
Not 3G, Not many improvements over the original, Below average camera

Verdict
The Atom Exec on its own is an excellent and compact smart phone packed full of features. If you already own the original, it's not worth an upgrade, but otherwise, this comes highly recommended.

Review: Qtek 9000 smart phone
19 May 2006

Summary
Laptops? UMPCs? What's the point when a mobile can do it all.

Pros
Quite a bit as it happens.

Cons
The problem with a device that tries to be a jack of all trades is - you guessed it - it ends up being the master of none.

T-Mobile MDA Pro
14 Oct 2005

Summary
Is the end of laptops nigh? T-Mobile and HTC will make you think so.

Pros
The first area where every PDA/Smartphone lets itself down is the keyboard.

Cons
What few problems there are with the device aren't really related specifically to the MDA Pro at all.

Review: i-mate JasJar
29 Sep 2005

Summary
While I was initially turned off by the ominous size and weight of the beast, i-mate's JasJar (aka HTC Universal) managed to win me over with its huge feature set, new UI tweaks, and great wireless connectivity.

HTC TyTN
24 Dec 2006

The phone is made by HTC which has many names (Qtek, iMate, T-Mobile, O2, Orange, Vodafone). HTC's brand in smartphones and pocket pc phones (or pda phones) just keeps getting stronger and stronger. HTC builds quality phones, from the small smartphone C600 to the larger Universal pocket pc. The TyTN is a pocket pc phone that runs on Windows Mobile 5.0.

The verson o the TyTN i have is the Vodafone V1605 Mercury, with my Orange sim in. It was already unlocked.

Apple iPhone 3G
13 Nov 2008

The Apple iPhone 3G is amazing! Love the screen, the fact that it is so compact, it does so much , it's possible to add so many additional applications to it and it's so easy to operate.
