Good Points: Small. Lightweight. Excellent functions
Bad Points: Build quality
HTC service
Life expectancy of less than one year in my experience.
General comments: I really enjoyed this phone when I bought it last year. The slide out keyboard worked really well. It has quite a slow processor and would often hang. The camera is ok and comparable to other phones.
However, after 6 months of use, some of the keys stopped working - intermittently at first, and then permanently. One of the first keys to go was the 0 key. This was very frustrating as you could not dial any numbers without opening up the slide keyboard. I telephoned the service line and no body picked up. It took around 30 calls before the phone call was answered. I know from experience that they have now changed this system, and the call is now always answered- perhaps because of the high volume of complaints about the build quality of this phone.
Anyway, the operator took my details, and said I would receive an email with further instructions. The email came, but there were no instructions on it. I waited a month before contacting them again, and they answered straight away, and gave me the instructions over the 'phone. The phone went off and I received an email a week later, telling me that the phone had had abnormal use and was therefore out of warrantee. It had not been dropped or even got wet.
Are these phones only built to last 6 months? Is anything over 6 months abnormal use? I have a friend with the same phone as me, and they are now on their 3rd phone in 6 months - Luckily they had Orange care, and did not have to go through HTC.
In summary, a well designed phone let down by build quality and lack of customer service in my opinion.

I believe the HTC S710 is a very good phone, lots of functionality and features - specially the wifi. The only downsides i found are:- battery life goes down rather fast if you stay connected at all times on wifi - but this should rarely happen for the average user- windows mobile is rather slow, specially at start up. After start up, after it builds some cache, it's okay.- Read mihaibotea's review (70 words)

Overall, a good purchase. I bought my HTC S710 to replace my Nokia N80, and it's the first non-Nokia I've had since '97. It's done me well so far and the pull-out keyboard does look impressive, even if the keys are tiny. But I like it and it certainly feels good to use.- Read stu531's review (113 words)

The SPV E650 is the first device I've come across that can truly be described as a single solution for data and voice. It's small enough to be carried around in any situation and fully featured enough to handle all of your mobile data needs. OK, so it ...
Summary
Brilliant, as the British say: take the side-sliding QWERTY keyboard design from popular HTC-made Pocket PC phones such as the Cingular 8525, T-Mobile MDA and Verizon XV6700 and use it on an MS Smartphone. When we first saw the HTC Vox (that's ...
Verdict
. If the HTC S710 had 3G, our star rating would have been higher.
Summary
HTC's S710 is ideal if you're seeking a smartphone with a full keyboard that can fit comfortably in your pocket. We'd have liked to see 3G support though.
Pros
Sliding keyboard, Windows Mobile 6, Quad-band GSM, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0
Cons
Lacks 3G support, Average battery life, Expensive without operator subsidy

Summary
The HTC S710 - previously code-named 'Vox' - is a neat, petite and easy-to-use smartphone from HTC.
Verdict
Regarded as a PDA, the HTC S710 is neat and petite - but slightly heavier than it looks. Six months ago we took a look at another HTC handset that was a smartphone proper and we found its standard phone keypad easier to use than this. Still, the HTC ...

A rebranded HTC S710, the Orange SPV E650 is a great device if you want an email-centric device but don't want to lug around a massive handset. At first sight it looks like a standard candybar phone, but flicking the top section out reveals a small ...
Pros
Good looking design ; slide-out keyboard ; good range of features
Cons
No 3G support ; sometimes feels sluggish

With its large screen, slick design and slide-out keyboard, the Orange SPV E650 is one of the most impressive Windows smart phones we've seen in a while. The lack of 3G support and sometimes sluggish performance are disappointments, but despite these ...
Summary
The HTC S710 is one of the first shipping Windows Mobile 6 Standard devices, and the first non-touchscreen Windows Mobile handset with a slide out QWERTY keyboard. We did some extensive testing on the enticing device, and present to you our in-depth ...
Pros
Big screen, relatively small size, great features, QWERTY keyboard
Cons
Keyboard is a little too firm, lack of 3G
Verdict
Even if nothing else can be said about the HTC S710, the device still has one distinct advantage over most Windows Mobile smartphones: if you are looking for a device with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, there really is no competition at the moment.
Verdict
A great little smartphone that's both desirable and, thanks to Windows Mobile 6, very speedy.
If you have a lot of contacts it slows the phone book down. I have 1500 contacts in the phone. Battery life is terrible. I mean real bad! I don't even use the phone that much and it's dead by mid afternoon. Phone has to many screens were things are to small to touch and the mouse isn't that great. Buy something else or wait for something better to come out. I was playing with Blackberry Storm today and it seemed a lot more user friendly. The Iphone is much easier to use but lacks the amount of...
I'd been waiting for the Apple iPhone for months. I even borrowed a friend's old non-3G phone to try it out.
As an O2 select customer, I was able to upgrade three months early. With eager anticipation I walked into my nearest O2 store and demanded "Upgrade me to the 16 GB 3G iPhone NOW!!!" - well, almost.
With hands trembling and mouth watering, I took possession of the most eagerly awaited phone ever. I've had a couple of days to put it through it's paces and so here goes.....
I had this Nokia 5800 Tube Xpress Music phone for about 6 weeks in which time I had three different handsets. the build quality of this phone is just so poor. the materials used are cheap and my main problem was a gap in casing which starts at the top right near the power on off button but eventually opens the whole way around the device. my replacement was the same and my replacements replacement was guess what? the same. nokia say it is an earpeace fault. i am changing to the e71. Good...
Too slow, too bugged, the O.S is outdated, complicated. this Nokia N97 phone is a shame from nokia.
Even if you have good specifications, you will not use it because the interface/UI is too slow and buggued. The N97 is clearly a deception.
Like said before my review, the N97 is the worst phone that Nokia has ever sold. Today there are competitors who are better or offer the same specifications: Samsung Player HD, iPhone, HTC Hero. I recommend to buy another device. There are a lot a...
BlackBerry Bold 9000 is a brilliant phone. Easy to use with a quick and responsive interface.
