    The Olympus VN 1100 is fabulous value, mine cost under thirty pounds and has not failed me yet. It's very easy to use even if your a techno-phobe like me. It records for a reasonable amount of time, and is also light and fairly small so easy to transport.

    An absolute must for note taking without all the worry about losing important bits of information - you can organise files as well so it's easy to find something you've recorded.
