Service report: had my vehicle in for a manufacturer equivalent 12 month service, under a service agreement that I have with Motoreasy. The service was anything but an equivalent to a manufacturer service. Halfords declined to provide a full service report, using data access regulations (GDPR) as an excuse NOT to share any information. They declined to offer ANY proof of what was done. I have identified several omissions in any case, and now I need to have the vehicle correctly serviced in accordance with what was initially promised, but not conducted, by Motoreasy and Halfords. I have managed after CEO contact with Motoreasy obtained a full refund. I have been inconvenienced by the conduct of both parties, but, as an established customer of Halfords, felt let down and neglected. Halfords have provided nothing, but rejection.

Let them look at my air conditioning ,went through all the checks i have a leek in the condenser.when they priced the job they priced the condenser at £400 , when I could buy one for £76 to £200 tops. Said this to man there he was not interested. Would not recommend anyone going there unless they want to waist money

Why no discounts on Batteries for the ordinary man in the street who frequents Halfords online and offline significantly more than trade card holders. Just bought a £105.00 battery with no discount offered at all. In the store only the things which nobody wants were discounted by 20% - 25%. When I asked the assistant if I could get a discount offered similarly by a National Car part supplier online..he gave me some spiel about them being externally sourced...well no **** Sherlock...China I expect.!! I used my local store in the end and paid full price, as I like to try and support the high street...but not any more £20.00 is £20 and I would prefer it to be in my Bank than Halfords. This is no way to encourage online or in Store shopping at Halfords.

Took my car to Swansea branch for repairs, which cost nearly £500. Washed my car a few days later and find all the wheel arch covers missing and marks on the paintwork from brake fluid. Won't be going back to them.

£29.99 for an mot not bad , but as we all know it's for a reason and I fell for it , £140 for a track rod end and tracking . Mmm track rod end for a fiesta at most £20 , don't get me wrong the staff were great prices not great . Take my advice go elsewhere for your mot , ideally just go for guys who just do mot's, they are not after your money for repairs , frank Carson news at ten over and out ..

My son regularly visits the Colchester Autocentre to MOT his Punto Passed in 2014 but with advisory, rear brakes unbalanced Passed in 2015 but with advisory, rear brakes unbalanced Passed in 2016 but with advisory Rear Springs require changing Now as a garage mechanic I have checked all these items and they were 100% OK Odd though in 2016, the brakes no longer got a mention but the Springs now appeared. Springs shot on a car that has only done less than 30K is ridiculous Perhaps from their records, they thought we have flogged the brakes to death, so we will think of something else I have always had a low opinion of Cheap MOT`s, because these garages have got to make up the shortfall somewhere Pay the full Fee and you wont get this problem

I booked online for a brake test at my local Halfords Autocentre (Bicester). On arrival at the confirmed, booked time of 1.30pm I was told that the earliest they could do the test was 3.30pm. When I asked why 1.30pm was showing as free slot online the response was 'I don't do the online bookings'. When I asked how could I know how long I would have to wait when booking an online slot, the response was 'You can't know'. A wasted journey. Their online booking system is worse than useless. Would not recommend.

Went to Halfords to buy new wiper blade, found the correct one for my car after using their really useful book. Went to pay.Was offered no greeting, was not asked if I wanted blade fitted. The cashier was obviously in a rush to serve me and be somewhere else. Wiper blade does fit but doesn't sit flush to the windscreen so doesn't clear the screen of water.Wasted £15.

On my first time using them i had one tyre fitted to my Peugeot 107. I used an online company called cartyres.com. Even though I had booked my time slot for the tyre to be fitted I had to wait about 1hr 30mins for it to be done. After driving home I found the handling of the car wasn't great so when I got home I wanted to move the tyre from the front to the back. All I had to remove the wheel was the spare wheel socket wrench. I found 3 of the bolts on the wheel, which I had just had the new tyre fitted to, were a tighter than i had expected. I could really feel the socket wrench bending as I was trying to undo them. As I came to undo the forth one the socket wrench snapped!!! I complained to the auto centre regional manager. He wouldn't admit it was the auto centres fault for doing them up to tight but they paid for a new socket wrench! So today I went there again ordering tyres from cartyres.com for my Citroen c3. Booked a time slot 930-1030. I arrived at the autocentre to be told it looked like the tyres hadn't arrived. The guy behind the desk took my mobile number and told me he would get back to me within 30mins, I never did get a call. I then phoned cartyres to ask where my tyres were, they then called me back within 10mins to tell me they had been delivered to the halfords auto centre the day before at 830. I confirmed the address with her because the guy at the auto centre bare faced lied to me saying that they had been delivered to their tyre supplier down the road. So again more issues when using this autocentre. It is just super frustrating receiving shoddy service!!! Not sure I will be returning!

It was a Sunday afternoon and I went Halfords in Coventry as my car notified me that there was a "parking light failure" I wen to Halfords to purchase the bulb and get it fitted. The lady at the till said she would get someone to check which bulb it was. She told me to pull into the fitting area and someone would check. Her colleague came over to the car and told me that the light was working then he said oh no its not then he said it's working again. He then told me that there was a fault with the car and I needed to take it to the dealer. I asked him if he was sure because I had, had a look at the light myself before I brought it in and it wasn't coming on at all when I looked. He said he was sure. I decided to go to a Halfords in London (where I live) and asked them to replace the light. They replaced the light with no issues at all. I'm a bit annoyed that it wasn't replaced when it could have been and also that I was given wrong advise!

I bought a new (to me) car and decided to take it to Halfords for a service. They flagged up a number of "urgent" issues with the suspension, engine and brakes. They implied the car was unsafe and wouldn't pass an MOT. They quoted over £1200 to get the car back up to scratch. I thought this did not sound right so I went elsewhere for a second opinion. The second garage said the car was 'sound' and only needed the front brakes at a cost of £200. They could find none of the other faults Halfords listed. The car now has an MOT. Booking online is convenient. The service itself was a fair price, but they appear to use this to sucker you in so they can quote you for loads of unnecessary work. Find a small, trusty local garage.

Halfords Intermittent service schedule states 49 items to be checked. No written list of items checked is provided for customer and inspite of various written communication and acknowledged by Halfords of receipt of my email I have no proof thus I have no trust that their listed items were actioned...... avoid or seek legal document for peace of mind.

i recently visited the Salisbury branch of Halfords to purchase some service items for my car. The employee that i was dealing with told me he could get the parts cheaper than Halfords sold them for and also he was a trained Mercedes mechanic and could do the service for me for a reasonable price. I declined his offer and just paid for my service items and left. I felt that if this person could stab his employer in the back, what kind of mechanic could he be? not very trustworthy i guess. It has put me off using the Salisbury store and i will happily drive 20+ miles to another store

I never write reviews but felt that the last 2 visits to my local Halfords Autocentre were so poor that it was vital to write a review in the hope that service standards and communication can improve. I run my own driving school so I know how important good performance has to be. Last August I needed the wheel alignment adjusting and the handbrake tension tightened. They did the job but the alignment was so poor that I had to put opposite lock on to drive in a straight line and had to take it back to be corrected. They then took it next door to National Tyres to sort !!! Within half an hour of leaving the centre there was a tremendous grinding noise coming from the rear of the tyre - calipers had been over tightened !!. I had to return to Halfords Autocentre for adjustment 3 times before the technician fixed problem. Very poor service. Vowed never to go back - but did !! Then on 26/2/15 I asked them to sort the inner rack arm and track rod end. They ordered the wrong part meaning my car was off the road for 5 hours for nothing. Then on leaving the alignment was way off 45 degrees !! Back in and National Tyres to sort. Took it in today (3/3/15) and despite insisting that I needed car back by 3pm for a lesson they failed to call me. When I phoned at 4.15pm to find out what the status was they said it'd be ready within the hour !!. I complained to the centre manager who glossed over the problem. He said that he thought I was just coming in at 3pm to collect despite. I said "What would the point of that be - the car wasn't even ready until 4.45pm" !! Again the car was at National tyres for the wheel alignment !! I will never use Halfords again - in fact I'll be notifying everyone I know what shoddy workmanship they produce and the poor customer service and communication.
