“Dont Just get Frustarted with Sofaworks Act”

Written on: 02/02/2016 by Carverpl229 (1 review written)

Yes reading reviews on here they pretty much follow the same pattern as with our experience. We too have had a review deleted from their chosen site after we had a nightmare with quality and refusal to put matters right as most reputable retailer would. There was however a change in the Law in October 2015 the Sales of Goods Act was replace with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which has clarified matters in law for getting your money back. You can now reject faulty goods within 30 days and… Read Full Review

Just wanted to say a few quick words about the above. A few of us have found out the hard way that Sofaworks don’t give a fig once they have your money but as well as the advice given by Carverp 229 about small claim court also remember if you took the Interest Free Credit the Credit provider is Joint and Severally Liable. So a quick call to them saying you won’t be paying until your problems are put right could work wonders. Also if you paid more than a hundred pounds on a credit card you can make a claim to the card company under section 75 of the consumer credit act This is because in law the credit card company is also jointly liable. Finally if you paid by debit card and you act quickly enough you can ask them to do a charge back. This can also get your money back. Depending on your card provider some do play hardball but Just be persistent, stick to your guns and be prepared to play the long game. The law is there to protect you from unscrupulous traders

The two comments above are very valid as far as SW are concerned but if you want quicker action I suggest another route which I'm currently planning after been given the runaround fir months with this lot. I have discovered I can buy poster size prints for as little as £5.0 so I'm putting them in all the windows of my car and parking outside there shop next weekend while I go for a long stroll and a Lazy lunch. I may not be able to get my sofa fixed properly but maybe I can let others know what there letting themselves in for

“Rubbish build quality”

Written on: 01/02/2016 by Erikai123 (1 review written)

I purchased a Knightbridge recliner sofa and two chairs, on delivery there was numerous small faults such as marks on the leather and stitching not finished correctly. After a few days a man was sent and sorted the problems out except for the studs in one arm had six less than all the others. After a couple of weeks the chairs were moving from side to side and had sunk on the seat, I contacted sofa works to be told I would have to pay £47 for them to come and look ! I told them I wouldn't pay… Read Full Review

Written on: 25/01/2016 by Jaden7 (1 review written)

Please do not buy from this company. The staff are great and friendly when taking your money but soon as there is an issue, they dont want to know. We bought a sofa and were given a delivery date 3 weeks later. Great. We stopped in all day waiting only to recieve a phone call late on saying they had delivered it to somebody else. Somebody promised to ring back to rearrange delivery. Never came. Every time you ring them its the same answer. We are dealing with it and we will ring you. They never… Read Full Review

“Very Poor Company with Appalling Customer Service”

Written on: 21/01/2016 by Murray106 (1 review written)

I purchased a leather sofa from Sofa Works (aka Sofology) 14 months ago. The sofa looked lovely when I first received it. However it has deteriorated very quickly. It has become pock marked and looks very worn despite being relatively new and having had little use. When I complained, Sofology appointed an independent professional upholsterer to assess the quality of the leather. The reviewer's opinion was that the product was faulty. Despite this Sofology are refusing to give me a refund unless… Read Full Review

We were offered an inspection almost a month hence but following a remonstration we had a supposed Independent!!! who spent all of eight minuets at our home Following the inspection by the Independent (there Words) Sofaworks agent, we were twice offered an appointment for a repair. We rejected this as we considered we did not pay for repaired settees especially as they were only days old. Due to Christmas and… Read Full Review

“Poor quality and poor aftercare service”

Written on: 16/01/2016 by Kerr102 (1 review written)

We bought a two seater settee, electric recliner and manual recliner in July 2014. This was apparently a top of the range product from Italy. We have had the company out to repair the electric recliner 5 tines and to date it is stilL not repaired to our satisfaction. On one of the occasions they broke a different part of the chair and then attempted to fix it quickly so that we would not realise. Obviously the quick fix was not successful and so when we realised we had to get the part replaced… Read Full Review

As you have let them repair the item more than twice, you're entitled to a replacement or refund, failing this, fill in the small claims form, email it to them and say it's on it's way to court if you don't sort this out. If there call your bluff pop it in the post. There will soon put things right,if not go to court,I did and won

“poor quality products and after sales care”

Written on: 11/01/2016 by cdStephens150 (1 review written)

we first visited sofaworks in Oldham in march 2015, we found a sofa we liked after taking our time and checking out the other sofa stores, we liked the style and comfort of the Insignia leather recliners so we ordered a 3 and a 2 seater electric recliner at a cost of £2819 , the sales staf were great very knowledgable and keen to help. we paid cash and waited excitedly for out new leather sofas. 12 weeks later they arrived and straight away we could see that all the recliner footrests… Read Full Review

unfortunately we paid cash in full before our sofas were delivered to us so we don't have anyone else to back us up, if our current problems are not sorted out then I assume we will have to get the furniture ombudsman and trading standards involved , thanks for the comment though,

They did the first time I complained at first he said there's nothing wrong with it then proceeded to dismantle the chair and tighten up some very loose bolts. The job lasted about ten days then the creaking was back. As for the seat pads he said the standard sofaworks reply it's within trading standards rules.

As the SW technical called, he had to write a report. Ask for a copy of this report to see exactly what is on it. If you disagree with what was said, you can challenge this with an independent report of your own.

Why have you given them 4stars before taking delivery. Sales staff have to be great so you buy. You should review if you recieve it. They have good ratings because people doing this yet are an awful company to deal with when things go wrong. I gave them 3 chances to make my sofa in the colour I ordered,! They are idiots there and no one cares, calls you, keeps you up to date etc. I finally cancelled and that's another story. They seriously believe they can keep your money and ignore you. I had to email them a copy of the court papers ,all filled in and ready to go if the money was not put back in my bank then they called me on the deadline but it remains to be seen if the money will appear. Wish I'd read reviews before I ordered. I bought from Fishpools now, had better furniture and has an amazing customer service record.

Ive had the same, I cancelled after giving them 3 chances to make it in the right colour! They don't contact you, apologise, nothing. We sent them a copy of the court papers all written out, ready to make a case to get our money back, gave them a 2day deadline and they called last minute. Don't know if money's gone through yet but we have no problem going to court , they will end up paying all the costs anyway. They just lie , put the phone down and forget you. Disgusting company.

“Pushy staff to the point i wont go again”

Written on: 20/12/2015 by 210Merritt (1 review written)

They had some nice sofas in and I was surprised that some were good value but the staff , ( one in particular) was so pushy I will never walk in the building again . The minute you set foot in the door they dart up to you , promise to leave you alone whilst you browse at your leisure and then don't , popping up every two seconds after stalking you like a lion . It was awful . At one point I became quite panicky as I could see the door, but knew I simply could not get out without being pounced… Read Full Review
