This has got to be the worst company ever. They quite happily took the money for our sofa but boy are we having a hard time getting the sofa delivered! We had to pay an extra £15 to get CSL to deliver on saturday 15th June. Hi, I'm the lady who appeared on Watchdog Weds 12th June 2013. CSL still insist that there isn't a problem with my furniture. Purchased last year at a cost of over £2,000. Last communication from CSL told me "expectations are too high". All I ever wanted was for them to fix my furniture. I'm not prepared to let this go and I'm now contacting The Furniture Ombusman and Trading Standards. Hi, I did see the programme and I have had very similar problems with a leather sofa. I have since been granted a re selection which I accepted and chose a fabric sofa. This still was not the best option but we settled for it anyway, I too had the head oils farce story fed to me even though the leather was peeling on the seats arms and headrest. Its just one excuse after another , will never buy or recommend csl again. A genuine leather sofa would not do this. good luck with your complaint.

“Csl company ”

I bought a cream leather suite from them about 15 years ago and it cost over £5000, all the coating came off after about 3 months, they came out and painted a coating on but that didnt last long, should of been guaranteed for a couple if years but they would not have anything to do with it again, i would not advise anybody to go there, unless they have money to burn. Really bad quality of furniture and customer service. (read more)

I too purchased a leather sofa 2 years ago , the leather started peeling after 9 months and has gradually got worse. I was informed that this happens with leather and you have to use throws on your nice new leather sofa to stop this occurring! The salesmen need to inform you on buying that this can occur with their leather sofa ranges.

I tried to cancel my sofa order two days after we signed.The Watchdog program had just been aired and I was concerned about quality and after service issues. The customer service lady proudly told me that 85 per cent of their customers were satisfied and did not require a service call, meaning that 15% of customers did have issues. Hi, I'm the Gloria Phillips who featured on Watchdog last night and to date CSL still will not honour The Sale of Goods Act and put right what is wrong. I spend over £2,000 with them and have now had the furniture for 14 months, looks like I'm stuck with it. I really hope you can get a full refund and will purchase your furniture elsewhere. I would be concerned if you have ordered a leather range. I too have had similar problems to what was highlighted on watchdog. My leather sofa started peeling off after nine months and gradually got worse in various places and they would not do anything about it unless I paid for a re cover but then it may not match. I since had a re selection offered to me which I accepted, a fabric range, only had this a few weeks and can already see that the cushioning is not going to last long , going flat already. So yes I would be wary.

Hi, I too feel I've been robbed by CSL. Am now contacting the furniture ombudsman and trading standards, would suggest you do the same. Their customer services are a joke, I've now been told that my expectations are at fault. Simply, because I've asked them to make good my furniture which cost over £2,000. Worst sofa ever. Cushions were terrible with very little stuffing. Had and engineer who came out who said they need fluffing up after you get off manually by yourself. Argued constantly with no luck with them. Got rid of them after just 6 months as so fed up of them. Spent 1500 pounds on them. Cushion problem started as soon as we bought them. After a few months a rip appeared in my leather on the leather kickboards on the recliner. CSL asked me to send pictures , then rang 20 minutes later and said i had caused fault myself. After going to Blackpool CSL twice in one week, decided on the suite of my dreams, being a lady on my own, needed more help than most, Gary made sure that he provided all the information and knowledge of the specific suite I was interested in, and took the time to explain all finance details to me. Walked into the store in Purley Way. It was one of 3 we visited. Had not heard of CSL prior to this. The staff member (Simran) who dealt with us was very polite and friendly. Most importantly he wasn't pushy. He came over to answer questions when we needed him but otherwise left us to make our way in our own time. It all started when delivered pieces of furniture different colours after 12 months foam in recliner collapsed took out accidental damage plus electric parts ins not worth a toss been fobbed off from start to finish please do not buy from this company as soon as money changes hands warranty void beleave me is am left with a 2 year old suite with a collapsed cushion and an a electric recliner that has not worked for the last 6 month despite paying ins DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY BE WARNED (read more)

From the moment we entered the store, to buying our suite, the staff in the store were very friendly but left you to try all the sofas and chairs . When ready to buy there was no hard sell. Delivery was on time with a 4 hour window followed by a call from the driver to confirm arrival time. Its two or three "TRADERS " and their website (not a dog!) Furniture imported from china and often damaged . Phone customer service and wait minimum 10 minutes then they put you through to servicing and you wait another 10 minutes AT LEAST . i HAVE BEEN 25 MINUTES. They promise things and promise to call back. They never do so for days you are phoning . Now nearly 2 weeks and no nearer. With one broken chair that cost me over £800 DONT (read more)

Having eventually received my sofa I'm pretty pleased with it however one of the cushions instantly became distorted once sat on which is irritating to say the least having waited 2 months for it. I have just taken delivery of a Karma 3 seater sofa from CSL Sofas. I am very impressed with the quality and comfort of the sofa. The sofa was delivered in less than 48 hours, ordered on the Wednesday afternoon through their impressive on-line sales team and delivered the following Friday lunchtime. To start with we were assured in the store that the sofas we were interested in would be collapsable and would be able to fit up one flight of stairs in our 3 storey town house. We ordered 2 settees and a rise and recline chair in Feb, we were kept informed by email during the wait. We were told of the delivery date and the time slot and took delivery after having a phone call from the drivers to say it would be about 11 30am. They turned up exactly on time, and I must say we have never had furniture delivered like that before. After taking our time choosing our sofa and being encouraged by the sales assistant to try out the recliners we splashed out and bought a three seater settee with 2 electri chairs , an electric recliner and a rocker.totalling £2700. I ordered a sofa from Csl in January I was received an email from csl to say it would be ready on 1st April I thought wow what amazing service so excited. “Worst Company I have ever dealt with”

Having ordered our Sofa- Cudos corner group, in November 2012 I was contacted 20 minutes before delivery in January 2013 to state that a mistake had been made and our sofa had been made the wrong way round ( left facing corner group instead of right). We bought our SERENA 2 & 3 seater sofas from their store in Brent Cross. The staff were very helpful and again not too pushy. We were made coffee and left to decide on our selection. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience. Our sofa was delivered within 6 weeks and we had exceptionally polite and professional delivery drivers. From entering the store and finding our suite was a joy! After being followed around the store in another shop, it was a pleasure to be told that there was help when we wanted it, but only then! Once we found what we wanted, the assistant was most informative and helpful. We were advised correctly and were well aware that the salespeople were on commission, however they were never pushy, although it was amusing to hear the same 'meet and greet' script 4 times in 20 minutes from different salespeople. I would advice anybody reading this to avoid CSL. please beware that all the positive reviews are actually about people's experience in the store and not the actual sofas they bought. of course the experience in the store is great because they are specialist store, but in reality they are specialists in fooling customers and roping them. “Excellent service”

We got delivery of the Canterbury sofa today and it was such a lovely sofa. It was really soft and looks beautiful in our home. I Have 2 weeks ago received delivery of a CSL Moda sofa (£449) the delivery guys were second to none and csl have even called since to make sure i am happy with everything. The sofa itself is super comfy and even my mum is now looking online at their sofas. Visited the Oldham store and purchased two 4 seater sofas. Service in arranging finance etc was excellent with an immediate decision and everything explained. Was told to expect new sofas in 10 weeks which is excellent as we move into the new new home in 10 weeks too. Myself and my partner purchased a half leather half fabric from yourselves jan 2012 ref no. 1328061/ 2 Raphael corner suite. I was very concerned about this purchase because of our pet at home and I explained my concerns thoroughly to the sales man. The EXACT same thing happened to me with the SAME sofa which I bought in sept 2011.
Totally misled and mis-sold the sofa and the 'protection insurance'.
Everything that touches it stains it, and, I was led to beleive it would be sprayed with some repellent/protection.
The 'protection' doesn't get put onto this sofa because of the leather on the base and arms, which Im informed of after getting a bit annoyed after a droplet of ice stained it and i eventually got through to the right department.
So it tough luck, it's insured-so claim.
So they send out someone who tells me the entire sofa needs reupholstering (within 6months of having it).
14 weeks later the material arrives on my doorstep with a letter to say phone the technician to arrange a visit.
When he arrived he wondered what the hell was going on because a lot of the marks and stains it had picked up, so easily, came out with his cleaning spray and a cloth. It's still dirty and stained (and now worth next to nothing despite costing me (£1300, which turned into £2400 on buy now pay later and I've had to move back into my mums house so it's sitting in a spare bedroom) because literally anything damp (rained on clothes for example) leaves stains, and there's only so much the cleaner will remove.
And trying to get any sense out of CSL left me so unbelievably distressed, a huge phone bill and a massive headache because they pass you from one person to another to another to another.
It really isn't on and now I have time I would like to address this, though the thought of dealing with CSL again is not something I'm relishing the thought of.
I used the Chester branch by the way.
