Visited our local sofaworks and was very impressed with sofa ranges and high levels of customer service. Went back the next day after looking elsewhere and ordered our sofa. Again very happy with the customer service. I then saw these reviews and was horrified! I contacted the store manger and raised my concerns.... He gave 30 minutes of his time on a Saturday morning to reassure there would be an aftercare service in the event anything went wrong. I was served by two members of staff and both were very friendly and helpful when I was being indecisive! I gave them my measurements and we measured up the sofa and discussed what would be best. Both staff made suggestions about what would be best for my room and were patient while I made my mind up. DONT BE FOOLED BY THE FLASH SHOWROOM AND LAID BACK SALES TEAM! It comes to something when you have to complain to a company via a review website!! I bought a DEMURE 3 seater sofa, cuddle chair and footstool from Sofaworks mid May. The sales team were friendly, they didn't hassle us, the showroom looked great - clean and tidy, and we found a suite we liked. We took delivery of our new sofa and after the delivery guys unpacked it, we noticed the 3 seater was incredibly patchy and looked worn in various places. The 2 seater was fine. Although the Delivery guy said it would brush up fine in a couple of days we reported this to Sofaworks the morning after. Bought a reclining chair paid 0ver £600 for it persuaded to buy insurance from sales man. just after the first year the colour started to come of called the store and was advised to call the insurers company they told me this was not covered by them and would have to speak to the store. called the CSL (Sofaworks) customer service explained to them and they replied with unfortunately there was nothing they could do about it and refused to entertain the claim. a couple of months after the… Read Full Review

Excellent showroom after that absolute rubbish! sofa is sagging on one arm technician came out and manipulated the arm and all looked fine for 24 hours and then back to how it was before. Customer services refusing to send technician again and actually very rude. I live on my own and do not sit on the affected side so it cannot be wear and tear. Having ordered a 3 seater sofa from you store in Edinburgh on 12/07/14 costing in excess of £800.00 we were told we would have to wait 9 weeks for it to be delivered. Having paid £100.00 deposit and agreed to pay the rest in monthly installments we left the store a bit saddened that we would have to wait so long for it to arrive. I recently purchased two Vantage Sofas from Sofaworks in Leeds. The shop assistant advised me that the Vantage sofas they had on show were two years old and still looked like new - which they did. However after two months the sofas look worn and shabby despite being advised that all that was required to keep them looking like new was to fluff up the cushions on a regular basis. I'm in the same situation as you are bought a vantage sofa from the leeds store and when it came it were totally different leather looked as you said shabby and the one I have as been buffed to hide scars that much it's smooth no leather look, we've had the expert out and he says there's nothing wrong with it and the creases on the base are normal even though all three of the vantage sofas in the leeds branch are perfect, he said that I'm asking too much from a sofa, this expert told me he's never seen the sofa in the leeds branch so how can he compare?
Customer service keep fobbing me off and are rude try to instigate a row over the phone also won't let me speak to management.
This company should be on rouge traders, but I'm not prepared to just lay down I'm going to court and informed the bank to challenge the payment,
I've also asked to swap mine with the one in the shop but they refused.

My faulty sofas are just my imagination the fact they are lumpy and one is sinking is simply not true according to Sofaworks! They state that despite a managers recommendation to have them altered there is nothing wrong with them! BBC Watchdog are gonna love this! We purchased a sofa (vantage brown leather) and was taken by the quality we thought in the build , however we parted with over two thousand pounds two weeks before delivery .... The sofas at first I admit had the aesthetic looks we wanted but what we noticed firstly was the two and a half seater was firm to sit on which I must add was what we wanted but the other two seater was totally different it was more cushioned and you bounce in the chair rather than a nice firm seat like the other chair… Read Full Review

The service we received both looking for and buying our sofa from the stockton branch at Teesside Park was brilliant. There was no pressure throughout the whole time we were in there giving us a great experience. We were able to customise our payment plan to suit our needs completely. Delivery of my 2 + 3 seater full leather vantage sofa came on the 24 8 14, the delivery drivers were great got the sofa through the window no problem, but it soon went rapidly down hill from there, as soon as the packaging were open I could see the difference in quality from the sofa in the store and the one I got. Found the whole process of ordering very smooth and the staff very pleasant. They seemed to really know their stuff and there was none of the pressure salesy stuff we found in other stores (this was the Reading branch). The only bit of misinformation in the whole process was the claim that the electric motor in the recliner could only have a one year warranty by law... We spent months chosing our new sofa's and finally settled on 2 2seater sofas from CSL (now sofaworks) - Charleston in Briar Brown. The service in store was excellent, delivery smooth and we were initially very pleased with our choice. “Peeling sofa p'd off customer!”

We purchased a 2 seater sofa, a 3 seater sofa and footstool from CSL a year ago….. all 3 have started to peel back to a completely different colour…. we have had an inspection and the result is it's our fault as our hair contaminated the leather….., I've never heard anything so ridiculous in my life…… we are clean…. we wash daily so we have clean hair…. we don't use gel or hairspray or any kind of product other than shampoo and conditioner….. how the hell does our hair… Read Full Review

No joking we waited 9 months for delivery then had nothing but problems from day 1 when they finally do deliver your suite check everything and if you see anything wrong reject it I wish I had I got rid of the suite after 15 months it looked like it was 15 years old and that was with me looking after it !!!
