i bought pets at home own brand dry puppy food from the sunderland store,
half way through to my horror, was live maggots, i took it back to the store, for the manager to say, "dont worry its a common thing" well if i wanted live fishing bait i'd of gone to a fishing shop! her customer service skills was terrible, and i never got as much as an appology,
    i'd never shop there again,

    Rude - worse service possible.

Do not use the online service unless you want to be treated with worse customer service possible.

Pets at home DONT GO THERE!!! Their Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Mice, Rats, Hamsters etc are ALL interbred and have chronic Health issues that pets at home DO KNOW ABOUT but will not say. SIMONS RODENTS are Cruel and evil people who do not care for animal welfare just the money pets at home will pay them!!!

STOP buying from Pets at home and supporting the likes of Simons Rodents!!

I am furious with Scunthorpes branch of Pets at Home.

My partner and i bought 2 female guinea pigs 6 months ago from there. One of our girls died last week after struggling with pnemonia for 6 months she had constant colds and was constantly on baytril. She came to us with pnomnia. Both GP's had URI's. She was kept in sawdust in the store.

We decided to get another gp to keep our other company. We checked out the GP's we saw a male we fell in love with and when i checked him over he had very ...

As I stated in the good piont I was greeted and helped greatly by two young men. Unfortunatly the rest of my visit to doncaster Pets at Home did nnot go so well. After happily accepting some beautiful fish and plants which the young men told me were 'Guppies'. I decided to treaat my cat. I wonderd up and down the cat beds but couldn't reach a particular one. I noticed a young girl in the pets at home uniform talking to what to what i belived to be a customer. I appraoched her and when she saw me ...

Pets at Home should cease trading as in my opinion their only concern is making money. I have been visiting my local one a few times a month when I have spare time to look at the fish they have and on a number of occasions I've heard poor advice being given to prospective customers, always dead fish in their tanks, mislabled fish and through the roof prices.
I may be taking the moral high ground, but I've ceased spending any money with them and rather spend my money with small, independant busin ...

Pets at home, what can i say but unhelpful, uninterested not bothered. I ordered a rabbit hutch on the website to be delivered to my friends address. On the website it asks for a billing address, pretty normal question, then you can add a different delivery address later, which i did. Delivery should have taken up to 4 days. 4 days later my friend hadn't received to hutch. Phoned pets at home customer service to find out why, apparently they tried to deliver to my billing address. They said they ...

my boyfriend got me two degu's from our local Pets at Home store as a christmas present. I have only had them four months and one passed away today. mostly every pet i have ever had from pets at home has had problems i once had a hamster that passed on a week after i got it, it died of paracites. all i can say is if you purchase a pet from here make sure it looks ok and that it has recently had a checkup also i have also had a problem with the adoption area of the store.

I have had 3 hamsters and 2 guinea pigs from here in the last year. all of the hamsters died from "natural causes" (took all 3 to the vet) and one of my guinea pigs has just die today of "natural causes" pets at home said we were "unlucky".

They are completely useless and are just money grabbing.

Would not reccomend them to anyone

I am a big fan of Pets at Home, I buy all my pet products from there. I brought a rat through their support adoption centre in the Oldbury centre. I have owned many animals before but never rats, the staff were great, spent ages helping my pick out a cage. and all other accessories(although I did walk out £150 lighter!). My beautiful rat eventually died (he was 2 when I brought him) and I have just brought two more young rats. So far no complaints.

Having dealt with Pets at home online store,I am amazed that this company is still going

Ordered 2 cat carriers.Received within time stated.Had to return one as cracked. That also no problem, they sent out a courier.

Asked for a replacement, that was okay.Waited a few days, phoned them up,got told I had to reorder via the website.
New carrier turned up,but still no refund into my account, which they said would automatically happen when I reordered!

I am so angry with my experiences with pets at home!! When i bought my rabbit 2 years ago i was told "he" was a female and he was also a dwarf rabbit which both were not true. Then last Monday whilst in the store me and my boyfriend fell in love with one of the rabbits they had in their adoption unit. When we asked about him we were told he had to stay in the store until Thursday and that it was "first come first serve" so i went to see him Tuesday, rang on Wednesday and then we arrived at the st ...

Good value but hopeless for me, I just would not us them again. While they appear to be cheap, they have charged me twice for the same goods which makes them very expensive.
    Delivered to the wrong address.
    Delivered the wrong quantity.

Pets At Home Tropical Fish Review

    Store: Gateshead (Metro Centre)

I have had an ongoing problem with pets at home, since i bought my aquart 60l aquarium with all the equipment and supplies (great i thought to myself). Got home set it all up by the book, waiting 2 weeks and took a sample to the store, they gave me the all clear to add fish, they became ill with white spot within a week, they changed the fish which to be fair, was kind of them and showed they cared about their customers.

    The ab ...

I feel I have consistently received bad service from Pets at Home in Leamington. The staff I've dealt with have seemed rude to me - at one point commenting after we had waited over 40 minutes for a member of staff to be free to serve us with some tropical fish - that we should leave now as they were about to close and would no longer sell us fish! On another occasion we called in to look at birds and were told no-one would be able to offer advice as they were having 'staff issues'. We have s ...

Pets at Home offer good service and good prices. The staff are friendly and are always willing to go the extra mile to help me. Some of the stores still stock guinea pigs and rabbits together though i have been assured they are working on that.

There are plenty of pets for sale at Pets at Home, and from what I've seen they've all been in good health and environments. Also there is plenty of toys and accessories for many different types of pets so you'll nearly always get what you're looking for.

This is a pretty good shop for toys, food and accessories though I'd say not so much if it's animals you're looking for. However, they have a wide variety of hamster breeds which can't be found at other pet shops and they usually have chinchi ...
