Once or twice a month we visit our local Harvester restaurant in Fleet. Service is always prompt and friendly. The menu is quite diverse although we always just go for the ribs. Everything else always looks a bit bland.

The wine menu is good, and there is always a large selection of lagers and ales.

The salad cart is usually kept fresh, but on occasion a few vegetables have looked slightly tired. The restaurant itself is always clean and tidy, with a nice friendly family vibe running throughout the premises.

This isn't posh dining, but if you're tired and can't be bothered to cook, I'd recommend taking a trip to your local Harvesters. Quick, cheap and fantastic ribs!

the service was poor the food was disgusting booked for 18 people and was not seated together but separated in 2 areas as this was both a birthday and engagement party most of the meals seemed as if they pre-cooked and then mircowaved before service to us the staff seemed as if just throwing the food on the table was good enough and as for value i was greatly disappointed will never go to this harvester again gcp3of5@hotmail.com

Perfect.... Value for money, fun atmosphere i was told the managers name was Chris Williams and Joe Lane both need to be rewarded for such a spotless building that has a nice layout. The food was spot on saw the chefs looked smart and working hard. My waitress was called ashleigh she was funny and smiley. We didn't have to wait long for our food at all it was hot and tastey. The drinks were in sparkling glasses which seems to be hard to find in pubs these days. They were served with ice and a ...

I arrived at noon with a family of adults (4 customers).
After waiting for 10 minutes at the bar, the bar staff were still unprepared and changing into their uniforms and trying to find the key to the till.
Eventually I was asked for my order.
The conversation with the barstaff was as follows:
" A pint of lager please"
    "Fosters or Carling?"
    "Fosters please"
    "Sorry we have no Fosters!"
    "Make it a Carling"
    "Anything else?"
    "A medium 'Coke' please"
"Would you like a bottle of Pepsi?"
    "That's fin ...

AVOID THIS DUMP LIKE THE PLAGUE - BEER WAS CLOUDY, WAITED 30 MINUTES FOR A 11.99 STEAK - IT WAS OFF, TASTED OF ORANGES, AND TOTALLY UNEDIBLE - REFUSED TO PAY FOR IT AND WALKED OUT

Disgusting service at Harvester Restaurants. when i got there it took around 30 minuites to get seated. then when we were seated it was hard to find staff to take our order, i was then forced to remove myself from my seat to find staff after 5 minuites of searching for a staff that will take my order we then had to move tables because apparantly our table was already reserved.
very unorganised. But on the other hand the food was quite good although i will not be going back there again due to poo ...

Will definitely not be going back to any Harvester restaurant. The service and quality of food has gone completely downhill. The plates/bowls were dirty, soup cold and the main meal greasy and lacking quality. Waitress was advised of this, but no refund offered. The service was terrible. Even though it was not busy, we were left to stand at the front of restaurant for 5 minutes. We then had to wait 20 minutes to pay our bill while the waitresses chatted at the back of the restaurant. Each Harves ...

When we first found this Harvester restaurant we were delighted. We have visited it several times for lunch and taken friends and family there.
Today, however, the food was well below standard, the salad bowls were dirty and service was very slow, there seemed to be a shortage of staff.
I complained about my starter and the price was taken off our bill, but my main course wasn't much better, the lamb shank was tender but had no tsate and the mashed potato was sticky.
My husband's fish and chips looked ...

I visited the Cat and Fiddle Harvester in Hinton, Christchurch with my two children and dog. We sat outside and had the outside menu. We had starters which were the cracker Jack prawns which were absolutly delightful, followed by the origional combo for me which was chicken and a half portion of Ribs which I have to say were the best ribs I have ever had my children had fish and chips. Unforunatly we filled ourselves up on the free salad cart so ended up sharing a dessert which Ithink was ca ...

On visiting the Harvester on the outskirts of the new forest, it looked lovely - garden for the dogs or kids and lovely thatched roof, it looked rather quaint.
there was a queue for drinks which was fine, we got the outside menu and sat down. The main dishes were mainly chicken based, so we had that for main, nachos for start too - we were starving.
starter came in good time, however the nachos were puffy, the cheese looked like it'd been frozen and not melted well and the salsa was just tomato ...

We went to a Harvester at Lancing. It had just opened but instead of serving the customers the staff just stood in a group of six chatting amid racous laughter but not serving the customers. Included in the group were bar staff standing around not getting drinks. Our waitress was busy drinking a cup of coffee although our drinks were on the bar by her shoulder.
It took us an hour to just have a single course meal.
    We wont be back!

The Harvester Hayes was an interesting building with character but needs some redecoration. It looks shabby. Our waitress was a lovely, friendly girl but seemed to be the only one on duty when we went upstairs for lunch. The salad was fresh, if very plain and unimaginative and our chicken was overcooked and dry. The ribs were very good but served with the usual oven chips. Seems to appeal to the young, cash-strapped and undiscerning diner.

I heard Harvester Restaurants are good value for money but the problems we had on the day of our visit did not give good stead for any future visits.

Harvester at Riverhead nr Sevenoaks I think is one of the worst places we could have chosen to eat, we waited 55 minutes for our table when we were told 30 minutes we were just going to walk out when they said they had found a table for us, the starter was ok (prawns) very watery which had gathered at the bottom of the bowl,,the main meal was cold and had to be sent back the next lot was luke warm but by this time we were really hungry
