Good Points: waitresses/waiters pleasant. Prompt service

Bad Points: Table dirty, soup spoon sticky, soup inedible, crockery has seen better days, poorly presented.

General comments: We have taken our son to the harvester chain since he was a baby. We have always had a good experience. He is now fifteen. Today, we went to the harverster at Pencoed, Mid Glam. The table we were shown to, had dried food stuck to it. My son, who has always had soup to start, stated it was inedible, his spoon was sticky. I ordered spitroast chicken with a tandoori sauce. When it came it didn't look appetising. The plate on which it was served was white but very worn giving the edges of the plate the appearance of dirty finger marks all around it. My son's plate was the same. The sauce was pored over the chicken, it didn't taste a bit like tandoori chicken. It was served with a few frozen chips and a small corn cob. The cost of this was £8.50. We were very disappointed with our experience today and won't be rushing back. We won't be recommending it to anyone either. I think a senior member of the management team should do a spot check visit soon.

My good points about Harvester Restaurant is the food, service atmosphere, all was excellent, staff very friendly and have been there three times now and each and every time we go there we can not fault the service.

as usual, a pleasant experience, a pleasant meal, usual high standard on the salad bar, good variation of items constantly being topped up therefore no shortages. minor complaint by some customers of the bread-rolls being on the dry side. we sat at a good table with pleasant view over Langstone Harbour with the tide possibly on the flood. Couldn't ask for more really.

I do not recommend going here. The food wasn't bad, it was revolting. I feel nauseous just thinking about the prawn skewers.

We were at a Harvester Restaurant last night Aug.30, 2008 to celebrate a colleague's leaving do and birthday of another, maybe 14 people in all and another group of friends coming after work. The place was good but the staff who served us appeared unfriendly, especially our waitress who seemed rude to us.I thought the food was so-so and the waitress while we were on our main course removed the condiments to another table for the next customers! We complained to a manager who we didn't find very he ...

my wife and i went to the brighton harvester restaurant at brighton marina today and what a disappointment we thought it was. we ordered a platter of a dish that was so bad that it was beyond description. it was a combo hard over grilled dry meat that should have been chicken but we couldn't identify it. we had 4 rubbery slices of a jambalaya. the rice tasted like some thing reheated which was overcooked and bland. after enjoying many meals at the marina, the last two visits have been the most d ...

I went to a Harvester yesterday. It was the one at Beech Hurst in Haywards Heath. The service was absolutely abysmal! We ordered drinks and had to remind them 10 minutes later that they had not arrived. We also ordered two prawn cocktails and two mixed grills. It took them another fifteen minutes to serve the prawn cocktails but still we were waiting for the main course whilst watching people who arrived after us be served their meals. After some 50 minutes had elapsed we complained about the po ...

Recently my mum, sister and I decided to go to Harvester as it was close by and therefore pretty convenient. It was a Sunday evening and so we thought there would be available tables - wrong! It was packed and we had to wait in the bar. AMBIENCE- When we were finally called to our table we were disappointed to see it was awkwardly placed opposite a wall (great view) and next to 2 huge parties with lots of noisy kids. Our tableware consisted of a paper napkin each and knife and fork, hence n ...

Restaurant and pub area seem dirty, decor extremely worn, carpet thick black, open kitchen area appeared dirty and old. I think the toilets were the worst of all. Looks very run down. Would not recommend.

I went for a meal with my family to the Cat and Fiddle in Christchurch. Had a very enjoyable experience. The only down side was that my steak was a little undercooked for my liking however when I spoke to an employee she sorted the problem out quickly. The desserts were lovely if not a little big but with two spoons we soon got through it. We would definitely return there again.

The food at Harvester Restaurant was piping hot and extremely good, the staff were very friendly. Only had to wait 15mins on a Sunday at peak time and the salad idea was very good. Will certainly be going back.

My and some friends went there last week and had fantastic service and a great meal! Only problem was that we had to wait 30 mins to have a table because they were short staffed in the kitchen but was well worth the wait!

I found the meat to be very fatty and overcooked. The fish was overcooked and batter burnt. No scampi no gammon! Did someone forget to do the food shopping?! Wont be going back unless dramatic improvement!

Will never set foot in a Harvester restaurant again! Some staff at the restaurant we visited looked uninterested, salad bar was full of dry-looking salad, two of our cooked meals were cold, asked to see the manager and was told there wasnt one there, asked for a phone number or address for head office and told to look it was on the internet, complained via e-mail to head office as there was no phone number and havent received a reply.

I am a 47 year old lady who regularly visits colton mill with my husband but now we only visit for drinks as the food is not up to our standard. The food has been cooked incorrectly a few times and trust me I have visited many times before and now they can not even seem to make a warm bowl of soup.
