Good Points: Great furniture and home items, low prices. A lot of fun to shop there, and the furniture is quite easy to assemble. Also, the food in the restaurant is very good.

Bad Points: Employees in the store were not very helpful, especially when I was trying to get a heavy item down off a shelf - they walk right by me.

General comments: I will definitely go back again.

Ikea is a very customer unfriendly experience on-line, they phoned at 6.45pm to say that bedroom furniture would be delivered the following day between 12pm and 4pm the next day. Bedroom was cleared ready for this (thrown out). Comes to 3.15 my daughter text to see if they have phoned. She then phones the number and is told that it won't be delivered till end of April. This is inexplicable as my daughter has no bed! But she can go and get one from the local store as they have it in stock. If thi ...

The entire online system on the Ikea website won't work with Windows Vista or any browser other than Internet explorer, which they don't tell you on their website. They claim that they will call you the day before your delivery to notify you of a time slot, however from my experience this is not the case. My delivery didn't arrive on the day scheduled, although when I called Ikea they assured me it was coming. No one called to say they couldn't make it, which meant I wasted an entire day wait ...

I cant believe that Ikea has a generally low reviewcentre score! I'm shocked, i love Ikea I think its brilliant and really good value for money. It always has a vast range of various things and is very cutting edge in some of its designs. The layout of all Ikea shops I've been to as been immense, they are always very big shops so be prepared to spend a good couple of hours looking round everything (not to mention locating all your bargains at the end!) The showrooms are perfectly put together ...

If you want to get a good job, customised to your needs, at a reasonable price then I would not recommend the Ikea fitters. Just go through the phone book, find someone who is a member of the Master Guilds (or similar accreditation). Then chat with the person who will actually do the job. Believe me, you will get a much better job.

Ikea can be both impressive and frustrating at the same time. The first time I went, my girlfriend was telling me how wonderful it was. But, to be honest, when we'd finished I couldn't see what the fuss was all about. Over time though, it's grown on me, and we now have a fair amount of furniture from there. My mental image of Ikea had been of wobbly furniture supplied with missing pieces. To my pleasant surprise, I have found all the furniture to be very sturdy, easy to assemble and well t ...

Be careful when ordering multiple items for delivery. You will be asked to electronically sign for the delivery even if the delivery is incomplete. The electronic signature is made on a hand held device but no details of the order or delivery are viewable when you sign. No documentation will be produced by the delivery agent until you sign. As far as the delivery agent is concerned they have delivered the goods even if you refuse them as incomplete. In my experience the online system showed th ...

If you dislike the vastness and confusion of places like Walmart Super centers or Home Depot, you will certainly hate Ikea stores. What a chaotic mess! Signs are not placed intuitively, and they are not clear and informative. Most of the employees don't know a lot of the products. To assemble, you must have a good ability to infer the purpose of the steps outlined in the instructions, and to visualize the outcome of each step. The instructions have no words, just pictures. Parts and pieces have ...

I had never been to Ikea before but I had heard lots of people saying that it is good value for money. So I went for a look around as we needed more storage space for all our books, CD's and DVD's. Over the space of 3 shopping trips we purchased 4 bookcases, which were great value and look really good, a side table which isn't anything special but it fine for what we want it for and a Sofa Bed, which is really comfy and looks nice. All the items were easy to assemble and as an added bonus we ...

I purchased some wardrobes from the Leeds store recently, and I am still waiting for the doors to be delivered. I was supposed to get them yesterday, but no one turned up. I haven't started putting them together yet, and I'm dreading the thought after hearing about missing parts etc., and I have already experienced what a pain in the neck Ikea are to deal with.

I purchased a complete bedroom unit from Ikea, which comprised a PAX Stordial wardrobe system from IKEA's Wednesbury Store on June 4th 2006. The items were delivered on 23rd June 2006. In the store, the wardrobe's dimensions are given as 300 x 65 x 236. We were served by a young lady who we discussed the dimensions with, and she commented that we were lucky that it would just fit into the space we have in our bedroom. The wardrobe alone cost £974 I paid £250.00 to have the ward ...

I purchased a king size bed and frame from Ikea. Only the bed and half frame were delivered. No headboard or foot board....When I queried this Ikea said we did not order these items even though we went to their help desk and said we wanted a complete bed. Today Ikea says the headboard and foot board are not made,,,also the bed side cabinets we ordered were missing shelves. I would rather pay double and get what I want as opposed to half a product. Also we paid Ikeas delivery service in cash to ...

I'd still shop at Ikea just to get the deals, but I definitely wouldn't expect help. You have to be an educated consumer and know how to help yourself in this maze. Prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of furniture, and the furniture is very sturdy once assembled, but there were some missing parts and damaged parts in boxes. I had to return to the store for a replacement. Customer service is absolutely lousy. I tried to get a floor person at the info area to help retrieve a ...

I went to Ikea in Croydon and bought some lighting for the boys bedroom. I found some end of line fittings so I bought three of them. When I got home and opened the boxes I found that two of them were broken. Not being near to the store I had a bee in my bonnet, so I had to go and exchange the faulty lights. On arrival in store they told me that they didn't exchange faulty goods. I had to queue up at customer services and get a refund, then I had to go back into the store to buy new fittings ...

We went to Ikea croydon to furnish 3 bedrooms, we arrive at 10am hoping to be finished by at least 5pm. We spent hours finding the right furniture as nothing was where you would imagine it to be. The information desks had queues, once you got there some of the staff were knowledgeable but god forbid if you changed your mind about one item, you would have to queue again and then find that the previous member of staff had made a mistake. This meant that the whole list had to be done again amidst ...

No order tracking with Ikea, information given over the telephone is not helpful. My order has had the status of Trying to Pick for a very long time, and I do not know when I shall finally receive the goods. In future I shall not buy at IKEA unless circumstances dictate it. Also the store layout leaves much to be desired. You are virtually sent on an expedition before you arrive at the destination wanted. More user friendliness and better customer care are required.

I've used IKEA to furnish my home office and spare room, so purchases include 2 beds, 2 mattresses, chest of drawers, desk, chair book case and hundreds of odd throws, boxes, bathroom bits etc. With the products you get basically what you pay for. The furniture (when I finally managed to assemble it!!) is sturdy and attractive, the bits and pieces vary, with good quality soft furnishings and bargain kitchenware, but also one or two quite useless/dodgy items purchased along the way. When b ...

Having asked at the delivery desk whether Ikea did home delivery to our post code and assured that they did,(free if over £1,000) my colleague and I went about looking at sofas. There was no one at the information desk so we continued to shop. On arriving down stairs we asked to order and have delivered 4 arm chairs, 1 sofa and 1 corner unit, appox. £1600.00. Only to be told that we had to find them, pay and take them to the delivery desk. I asked why when the furniture was to b ...

This is the email that I sent to the Ikea Contact Us (customer_care@ushelp.ikea.com) on their website... I visited your Bloomington MN store (7 hours away from my home), and found an Ethel Rund shower curtain that I fell in love with. The store was out of the product at the time, and the sales woman told us to check to see if it was in the catalog, because then we could go ahead and order it when we got home. I found that it was in the catalog and purchased additional items to redecorate m ...
