A month ago I purchased a Dyson, DC19 T2, after giving my Miele canister vacuum to my daughter. After years of having either Sebo or Miele vacuums (real work horses!) I decided to try a Dyson. BIG mistake, especially since it cost £35.00 more than replacing my Miele. It is very "plasticy" and cheap feeling - not solid at all. The foot pedal to switch from floors to rugs is useless. I am not big/heavy enough for it to work with my foot - it is very fiddly. Therefore, I must stop... (read more)

I have owned Dyson since the very first model still have it and love it. I tried to buy another but it was replaced by an inferior design - in every way PLUS my wrist aches as I vacuum and it twists and turns on the ball. I therefore rarely use it. Also it sometimes takes three go overs to get a piece of lint! I am now looking to buy a couple of reconditioned first models like I have. While a bit difficult to push they have incredible suction and really groom the rug thoroughly. If I use... (read more)

I have used Dyson products for many years and have been very happy with them. When I saw the DC19T2 Multifloor advertised at what I thought was a very good price, I jumped at the chance to buy one. I came to realise that the cleaner did not have the turbine head that I had with every other Dyson that I’d ever used. This made what is a potentially good product into just another mediocre vacuum cleaner. There is a turbine head for the DC19 but that’s another £55 so what was an expensive... (read more)

Such a disappointed dyson owner, even though it was on sale my DC19 was still expensive for me. I thought i was getting a bargain. but it is useless on carpet, you would think any hoover you buy could clean a carpet or mat!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Sad Dyson owner!! Will need to buy cheap hoover for upstairs in house:-( Catherine Kilkenny (read more)

Dyson DC19 T2 This vacuum cleaner is too heavy for the average woman, it pushes the dirt round in front of the brush and you will have to lift the head to pick up the dirt, I now use a broom, brush and dustpan most of the time, very awkward to manipulate especially from room to room better to carry it through doorways or chip all the paintwork. Storage is a nightmare you need a massive cupboard or a room all to itself. I live in a bungalow so stairs are not a problem, but I imagine that it... (read more)

This is the second Dyson we've purchased now, the first was an upright which had many problems; the motor had to be replaced (under warranty), 2 hoses split and 2 stair tools snapped so we gave up on Dyson for a few years as the ongoing costs and hassle just didn't seem worth it. I'm delighted that we decided to give Dyson another chance with this cylinder cleaner because it has exceeded expectations! We decided to replace our basic bagless cylinder vaccuum with the DC19T2 as the DC26... (read more)

For the cost of the Dyson DC19 I would expect better design. The suction is good and the flat head works well on hard floors. On carpets, particularly short pile it, would be quicker & easier to go around on my hands & knees with a dustpan & brush. There are no brushes on the head and I end up feeding any fluff & hair into the head by hand. I am thinking of buying a turbo head but bit of a joke having to pay another £50 to get an expensive vacuum to work on carpets! Also the accessories are... (read more)

This is very good for hard floors but not so good on carpets. I think this model has a major flaw in that the flat head has no brushes and also the suction on Carpets especialy deep pile is very poor. This vacuum is NOT SUITABLE FOR CARPETS in my opinion. What an over hyped product, believe me you are better off spending your money either on an upright or anoher brand. We were very dissapointed as we expected much better performance from a dyson than this - it could be why all the retailers... (read more)

Hi have used this Dyson hoover for nearly 12 months at my work place..It has caused me to have major wrist problems as the handle is not ridged and your wrist is constantly moving from side to side..Now having to wear a wrist support now due to the pain I have been in. I use a Dyson animal (not ball) at my own home and have never had any problems..I think a health warning should be put on this hoover !!!

I had a Dyson before and it was ok, so I bought a replacement Dyson DC19 when it broke. I wish I hadn't bothered, it is a horrible machine to use.
- The attachments are all a lot flimsier than they used to be on older models.
- The hose doesn't fit into its storage slot for easy stowing under the stairs, so I am constantly wrestling with it.
- The wheels don't run freely, so it puts a lot of strain on your wrist as you drag it along with constant resistance. It also tips over a lot.
-... (read more)

Having owned a Vax 2000 for the last 15 years or more I then tried out my friends DC19 and found it to be very good.
Bought mine from Tescos for about £150 and so far I am very impressed. First off it looks brilliant, then when cleaning my room I found the suction to be very powerful and picks up dirt very well.
I found it a bit fiddly when I first tried to put the thing together and figure out how it all came apart but once you know its easy. There are a good number of tools included and I... (read more)

I used to have a DC02 which was durable, simple and did the job well through 4 building projects! It eventually died and I've just bought a DC19 whch is entirely inferior product.
The materials have become more flimsy, the machine bigger and more unwieldy, the attachments are less durable and the connection for the hose extender to the cleaner fails whenever I try to move the machine.
Dyson have tried the make the machine look better at the expense of simple good design and... (read more)

I owned a Dyson upright and loved it but found it heavy to carry upstairs. I decided to buy this one (DC19) and it has been the most useless item I think I've ever owned. It is difficult to store in a cupboard due to its strange design, it catches on everything so doesn't pull through doorways or around furniture. Worst of all, it doesn't pick up well and won't lift hairs of any sort at all! Having two cats, and a child with long hair, this isn't good. I mostly have to use the small tubular... (read more)

I really can't relate to the negative reviews of this product! We have 2 cats and our previous Hoover Vacuum obviously wasn't doing the job properly! I've vacuumed the sofas and carpets even the computer keyboard, bed sheets and curtains! Attachments easy to remove and attach, cylinder easy to remove and empty, no expensive bags, excellent suction. I'm in love! the head picks up lint and cat hair excellently but it does require a backward and forward stroke to work effectively - though this... (read more)

Just do NOT buy one of these Dyson DC19. It is fine on hard floor but is useless on carpet it just flattens your carpet and pushes any fluff into a ball rather than sucking it up. So disappointing, dont waste your money. (read more)

This Dyson DC19 is a great vacuum cleaner. We have a guesthouse and it's used extensively every day. It's robust, the suction is excellent & it's so easy to clean out. Now I'm used to it, but when we first got it we couldn't believe how effective it was compared to our previous (standard) cleaner. I'd given the floors a good vacuum before first trying it and the amount the Dyson still picked up was a treat to see.
I see that some other reviewers have negative comments & can't relate to them... (read more)

I think the Dyson DC19 i sugly, not practical, minimal performance. Dont but one unless you plan to use it soley on woden floors or tiles, absolutely useless on carpet. The boasted, no clog filters are useless, i have owned this machine for less than 6 months and sold it on ebay because i hated it (read more)

The Dyson DC19 is great value for money - bought mine for £148.99 from Argos - absolute bargain when compared to the other Dyson's currently on the market. Excellent for transition from carpet to hard floors as there is no need to do anything to the cleaner - it just sails through all types of floors. Good deep clean - would recommend to anyone. I don't know what the bad comments are about this product. 1st things 1st. this dyson is made more for short pile carpet and hard floors, hence the reason it doesn't have a turbine head on it. I had a DC04 before this one for 4 years I have honestly never had 2 replace anything at all on it. I use my dyson every 2nd day and still don't have a problem. Maybe if all of them people looked after their items properly there wouldn't be a problem. also there are many comments on pricing, if its so... (read more)

I hated this thing from the start. It didn't do badly on wooden floors, but it's rubbish on my carpets. I can stand there going over and over the same patch - it just won't pick up fluff or cat hair. I'm not sure whose stairs it is designed to sit on, but my very standard stairs are way too narrow for it. It's very difficult to switch the head from hard floor mode to carpet mode as the lever is so stiff. The wheels on the head roll off every now and then, in case you weren't exasperated... (read more)

The Dyson DC19 sucks so hard it lifts the carpet! Quite light. Flat multi-surface pick-up works well on carpet, wooden and un-even tiled floor. Easy to empty and clean. 5yr parts and labour. Still amazed how much dust is in the container and we hoover a lot in our house!Great buy from Argos at £150, don't know why we haven't bought a Dyson before. The rest are rubbish in comparison.
