“Never buy from HoF”

I ordered a rowing machine from HoF (Aquo Magnetic Folding Rower). It was delivered promptly, but when it came it needed assembly, and had useless instructions. When it was assembled the digital timer / screen did not work properly (would keep cutting out and re setting) so I contacted HoF about it on 7th March through their website, however after 10 days there was still no resolution from their side as they were apparently waiting for a reply from their manufacturer. “Poor customer care”

Now been left with no sofa for over a week due to HOF cancelling the day before original delivery. It's left my wife trying to breast feed our baby on the floor for over a week. Tried to complain, all I got is section 5.3 of the T&C leave us able to mess you about for 4 weeks either side of delivery. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM whatsoever. “Customer service non existant.”

I bought a merino wool grey sweater at House of Fraser in Plymouth in last week of October 2014 for my son's birthday on 13th December. The sweater was priced at £40, this included 10% off the original price of £50. I recently purchased a red Typhoon bread bin from house of fraser online, I opted to pay by paypal and had it delivered to my nearest store for pick up. I went to pick it up and insisted it be checked prior to taking it away. It was unwrapped by the store and on inspection found it dented and scratched. “REFUND POLICY”

I purchased a jumpsuit the middle of October for Christmas and changed my mind over the purchase so returned this at the beginning of December. To cut a long story short I was refused a refund or credit note even though the item was still being sold in the shops at full price as I had returned the item outside of their return policy guidelines. House of Fraser don't run their storcard system. A company called Newday does. Here's my sorry story...... I opened an account to be able to benefit from a 10% discount on a purchase from House of Fraser. I wish now that I hadn't. I spent £341.10 in the High Wycombe House of Fraser store with my new card. I bought a duvet from house of Fraser in their sale with 70% off, I admit that I didn't shop around for deals as I was shopping at lunch time and was working on the naïve assumption that it would be a good buy. “Only 14 days for a Refund at Christmas”

No complaints about the store[s] - except finding a manned till can be a challenge! HOWEVER... NO REFUNDS AFTER 14 DAYS!! So... If you buy an Xmas Gift before 13th December there is a no refund policy! Yes - you can have a voucher... big WOW! This is an inferior policy to M&S, JOHN LEWIS and other competitors - so....
